Hi Everyone, Some of you may have noticed this doing the rounds on the internet recently, but for those who haven't have a look at the article. Basically, in short Saints fan Martin Murphy has released a version of the Kings of Leon song Sex On Fire but with Saints related lyrics. The song has been placed on itunes with all proceeds going to charity. Link to the song: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/saints-on-fire/id517778640?i=517778653&ls=1 Link to the article: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_news.php?storyid=16660 Cheers.
Was beginning to warm to the song until I heard a rushed 'back in the premiership'. Back in the top flight would have run so much smoother. Good cause though, and good to see something different for a change.
Al together now oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhthe saints r on fffffffffffiiiiiiirrrrrrrreeeeee quality
How about Back in the USSR..? please log in to view this image Hands up who isn't old enough to get that..?
Hey that's great. The kids will be impressed as I have now downloaded my first ever song onto my iPhone! FLT is down with the kids.... Sic (????, is that right?
Watch it, I wasn't even a twinkle in my mother's eye in 1960. I must admit to being here in the 60's though, albeit leaving them while still in the pram, unlike others eh Fran?
a "78" or did they call it a "48" ... genuinely not that old!! Do remember ny Dad's big huge cassette thingy.
Can't even buy cassettes now..what is the world coming to! The few I have left go all whiny half way through as they've got stretched, so mainly stick to the old car radio (or wireless as it used to be known). You never know I may even get a DVD player if it comes with my next car. I remember being at the head of the pack with my trim-phone (blast from the past), a deep freeze (height of fashion in 70s), and video recorder, but got to the point where I don't care, though obviously I like my laptop.
They had little cassette thingy's as well. The 78 was the old vinyl record, later they had some that they called "45". Made of plastic that warped as soon as you warmed your hands on it. We used to drive around with transistor radio's on the front shelf or back shelf. In fact anywhere you could get a signal I was driving around in a 1936 Vauxhall 6 cylinder which I had bought for £12.10 shillings (£12.50) from a mate. I was away for two years (in the forces) came back home charged the battery, started her up, went down the post office taxed the car and off I went. In fact used to do that on several occasions (because of the forces) although never such long absences in between usually about 7/8 months. Not many cars would do that today Happy happy days and memories.
My dad, when he was a nipper, would take the family's wind-up gramaphone and a pile of 78's onto the floating bridge and go back and forth for hours. Best thing was, it was free. Now beat that for Southampton based nostgia!
Back on topic. For those not downloaded this, do so... it is ace. It should be played before the last two homegames.....
8 Track cartridges were bought by the same people who bought the Beta system instead of VHS. Both were said to be superior systems, but you should always buy whatever the masses are buying...obsolete in no time.
