Why can't this ****ing team raise their game against mid table teams? WHY, WHY WHY???? My personal opinion is that our midfield lacks quality! Bruce bought or got on frees Gardner, Larson, Vaughan (all from relegated teams last season). These are good squad players who should fill in when injuries occur. A creative midfield player is needed as we all know. Catts is 100% and cant be faulted for effort but is he really that good a footballer? McClean shows great promise & I would like to see Meyler get a few more games. Colback is also young & needs time to improve. However, my biggest worry is keeping hold of Sess. He must find it so frustrating playing in a team that has shown it can raise it's game against the so called bigger teams but yet seem to struggle quite badly against the teams around it. This summer will be very interesting being a SAFC fan. After the drubbing against Everton I believe MON will make quite a few changes to the playing personnel. Players of the quality of Fellaini are needed. This guy is quality & I can't believe he hasn't moved on to a 'bigger' club. MON will have to ensure that better players are added to the team & not just more squad players otherwise I believe Sess will be away in the summer. I trust MON will deliver but as I say there may be a lot changes this summer. This current team is frustrating the hell out of me at the moment but they will always get my whole hearted support.
With FFP in mind now may be the time to draft in youngsters gradually alongside 2 or 3 quality signings this summer.
This. It astounds me that fellow Sunderland fans still think Bruce spend a fortune. He didn't. He spent what he made from selling Keane's ****e and whatever his faults, he improved the squad massively.
He improved the squad no doubt. Just his man management skill are nothing short of appalling. Would place a lot of money on SNQ being the man who persuaded at least 80% of Bruce's signings to come to SAFC. Speaking of Keane, not long now till George McCartney is finally off our books. Hope he's enjoyed his 55k a week.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! £5.5 million plus 55,000 x 260. Ouch.
It's 'alleged', but if you think back, he never wanted to leave West Ham, and he never wanted to come back here, then he just signed. Cheers Keano...
I am sure as he was loaned to WHU part of the agreement would be that they covered at least some of his wages. This is part of the contract in most loan deals. So if he is on £55K a week I feel sure SAFC will not be funding all of it.
Ah well, we've all had our expensive flops (Marcelino, Maric, Kluivert, Luque, etc). Seems Keane was a bit of a master at it though, he burned through alot of money in a short space of time - then did a similar task for Ipswich >.<
