Nicky Maynard saga all over again http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...ull-season-to-get-Leeds-up-article888897.html
For 8M with his contract with a year to run. Nicky Maynard all over again. No one will buy him for that price as he isnt that good. He wont sign a new deal and he will leave in Jan on the cheap
yes, id agree. In jan i can see him in the bolton's (struggling smallish prem team who isnt that small) for around £2m
I understand that Snodgrass is scottish and all but there must be a photo of him somewhere where he doesnt look completely wasted
Surely the last nail in the coffin for Mr Bates if he sells youre best asset? Because regardless of the fee you know he wont re-invest any of it!
Adam Clayton could rake a couple of million. Lonergan and McCormack could get one each. Pretty sure they have a good young defender aswell, Tom Lees.
Lonergan wont get 1M. Preston let him go for about 200K. McCormack has 1 good season and then 1 bad season. Tom Lees i havent seen much of him and Clayton hasnt been pulling up any trees recently. But he does look decent
I'd def go for him, could be interesting to see who NP goes for in the summer, could he go for Stuart (bought him in at Hull, has seen his ability, if he goes for him, he sees the potential), Snodgrass (everyone has seen how good he has been this season) or Whittingham (.... im dreaming again). I recon that Whittingham and Snodgrass will end up in the prem next season, they are 2 very good players. Either way, i really hope we do get a good winger in, Gally has been inconsistant, Marshall has been played all over the pitch but is improving, Dyer gives little end product (don't get me wrong about Dyer, he hassles defences, he uses pace, but provides little to the front 2). On another subject, i bet Maynard is kicking himself now that the team he joined may not (and prob wont) get automatic promotion.
Nigel wont pay that much for 1 player so its a non starter. A good player yes but if they want 5M+ for him then it doesnt represent very good value for money and i think we could do better elsewhere
Never mind who we could get - is meaningless at this point in time - who are we going to get rid of? I think that Mills and Beckford could be off - should get £2.5M back for Beckford but no one will pay the £4M we did for Mills - as they are two of the highest earners at the club. Paintsal hasn't even been on the bench under Pearson I think and neither has Tunchev. Tom Kennedy was a Pearson signing but doesn't seem good enough as does Waghorn. Howard is coming to the end of his career and Vassell could be too as his injury could take away a bit of his speed and he doesn't seem to have enough skill to compensate. What do you think - predict we should be able to get £3-4M for them all as the majority of the above will be released on frees.
Gone in the summer Paintsil- Probably have to terminate his contract or let him go on a free Mills- Probably get about 2M for him Oakley- Contract expired Howard- Contract expired Vassell- Contract expired Johnson- End of the loan Moussa- Decent player but not quiet good enough Weale- Not good enough anymore Tunchev- Contract expired Questions marks over Gallagher- He isnt good enough to be nailed on first choice but with a bit of decent competition he still could be worth keeping Waghorn- If Nigel can get him playing again to how he was he will be a very decent player for us. Wellens- Can he still perform to a decent standard Beckford- Is his attitude and work ethic good enough. I think we just need to trust whatever Nigel does with him Schlupp- Would his development be better getting out on loan or staying in and around the first team here Kennedy- He has looked decent so far as back up to Konchesky.
Agree with that list but I'd hate to terminate Pantsil's contract and have to pay him off. He's got another two years left on it and his wages will be astronomical. I think he might go to somewhere in Europe.
Forgot to mention Bamba - was interest in him following the African Cup of Nations, would you miss him if we get a good price?
If anyone offered around 3M for Bamba I would be tempted to sell. Pearson has always got an eye for a defender so i reckon he could get a decent replacement for half of that. We would already have Morgan and St. Ledger.
Might already be happening. I'm sure I saw some rumour the other day about Nigel wanting to get some kid (a CB) from Man Utd. EDIT: This guy, Tom Thorpe. http://www.manutd.com/en/Players-And-Staff/Reserves/Tom-Thorpe.aspx
I think if he did let Bamba go he might go in for Chester from Hull who we was linked with in Jan but ended up going for Wes Morgan
