This is why he sold his house apparently

"I had a third child recently and it's difficult for my wife when I'm away so she wants to move closer to the family home," he told BBC Radio Humberside.

Good. I must admit I was moaning at half-time that he just doesn't get on the end of any crosses/knock downs/scrambles in the 6 yard box, but Nick leaves him on, knowing/hoping he'll get that one chance - which he did. What do I know...

What else was he going to say: "I'm moving house cos my missus hates it here and would prefer we lived in the midlands"?

He wont fancy a 5 hour round trip every day and it cant be good for the body to travel that far before and after training, nor will his missus want him away from home for even longer every day. He'll be going....

If that was the case then why did he bother to say anything at all and not just keep stum?

I didnt listen to this one but I heard Burnsie ask him about it. He has to respond with something or what would we all say to silence? I'm not criticising the kid here btw, home life is more important to him.

I'm just being realistic when there are probably 10 appropriate clubs he could play who would want him and are much nearer his home. Just forget you're a City fan for a min and even forget this is football and attribute it to any other industry and it is sensible for him to want to leave.

I thought it was bang out of order for Burnsey to be asking him why he is selling his house to be honest in a post match interview. Maybe him and his wife had been having a bit of a dispute over her wanting to be closer to her family as they have a new baby, who the hell knows but I'm bloody sure that it's none of our business why the hell his house is up for sale!
Imagine if a player was having marital problems and he asked " hey Fred I hear your wife is screwing around on you do you think that is the reason you are playing crap recently"
I know Burnsey likes to try and act like he is asking probing questions like he is some kind of investigative journalist but it's football and family stuff needs to be left out of it!
I know this is a football message board and everybody is entitled to their opinion but when it comes into speculating about a players private life it's gone to far, you sound like a bunch of fishwives talking about Hilda at number 43 and the milkman FFS. Leave the lad alone and let him get on with playing football!!!!!

I really don't think anyone better than us would want him. Some of the lesser sides in this league might need someone who can score goals without support but why would he go there? I definitely can't see anyone PL coming in for him and probably not anyone above us in the league either.

I'm not sure on this 'score goals without support' business Premier, he hasn't exactly been banging them in every week and when he does he's mostly set up. I just wish we could find the next Andy Payton, there's a striker who didn't need support and hit maybe twice as many goals in a similar league.

He's an enigma is Fryatt. His shooting was terrible (or nonexistant) in the first half of this season but weirdly that's also when he scored most of his goals. He's impressed me a lot more lately but not scored as much.

Totally agree btw and I wouldnt be surprised to hear the club have somethign to say about this. It's not Burnsey's or anybody else's business for that matter.

All this is to me is journalists picking at little things. When Pearson managed us he lived in Sheffield? Still travelled every day.
The lads scoring goals and is happy here... and Burnsy's a prat.

On a similar topic, I can confirm that Paul McShane withdrew from the house he was buying, as he doesn't expect to be anywhere near the area. <ok>

I've just seen it back on Tigers Player, I'm not sure Burnsy asked anything out of order, he said there were rumours his house was up for sale, and are you leaving basically, Fryatt said he didn't want to go into it and gave a quick explanation, I can't see a problem with that.

Mcshane will be a city legend of sorts in years to come I'm sure, mostly for the wrong reasons but he had his moments, mostly of the heart in mouth type it has to be said!

It was a bizarre interview with Fryatt when Burnsy asked him the 'house for sale' question, his initial response was that he didn't want to talk about it, then he launched straight into giving a full and frank answer!
