Norwich were 1-0 up and had a stone wall penalty refused which should have resulted in King being sent off. 60 seconds later 1-1.
referees have been an absolute joke for the past 3 days, sh!t decisions after sh!t decisions, these guys are totally incompetent, and then the FA demand 'respect', it's not respectful to have referees who can't even do a proper job, how respectful is it for Wigan who can potentially get relegated because of their sh!t decision? -Manunited's offside diving penalty resulting in a red card -Chelsea's clear offside goal/Ivanovic punching a player before goal 2 -Baloteli's horror tackle on Song going unpunished And now this at Spurs.
This one may have been the worst of the lot - not just one hand pulling the attackers shirt but both in order to pull him back to stop him getting a shot away. Last man too.
king just can't deal with holt, and kaboul is down injured atm. can see norwich scoring again. problem is, spurs look industrious in midfield and saha will get chances to win it.
Don't know what you are using to check the scores but it gets the thumbs up from me 2 games in 3 days always leads to lacklustre performances Jayram, what did you enjoy more yesterday? Beating city or smashing their title challenge to pieces (I know how much you hate the way they have splashed the cash )
Only complaint is for today - massive decision. Not even difficult - once again he can only have bottled it, because it would likely have been 2-0 and King would have had to go.
now norwich should have had another when adebayor fouled someone. again the ref didn't give it. this one was much less clear cut though.
All the arguments about video replay and all the rest are because the officials just haven't been good enough. Not enough of them have played the game at a high enough level to understand it. If you know anything about the game you saw that Balotelli challenge on Song coming about 3 seconds before, I was wincing long before it happenned, the ref should have got in a position to see the challenge. For the offside against Young, the assistant was right in line and just made a bad call, same with the Wigan game. I was a lot more sympathetic with the Everton-Arsenal offside because Drenthe was going one way and the defense the other, but it was still a bad mistake. The EPL may be the best league in the world in terms of players but as referees go, their performances are just not good enough. That tackle on Song was not off the ball, there is no excuse for the referee or the assistant to have both missed it. Unfortunately most of the kids that understand sport, play it. Its the kids that don't really have a clue that become officials. I only became a referee when I couldn't play myself anymore, and I am too old to do it at any serious level now. The referee course/clinic I went to, the kids that were taking it, couldn't even kick the ball sufficiently well to demonstrate situations for the instructor. The referees in Britain are poorly instructed, poorly trained and not knowledgeable about the game to the level they need to be. The draconian punishments handed out to managers when they express disappointment with referees that often have cost them their jobs, just shows how sensitive the FA are to the issue. It is a major problem. The salary of the referees needs to be doubled, and we need to start making the profession a little more respectable.
