Hear me out on this one, i've been thinking about this for a few days now and in a way if there was anything good to come from that hammering is it motivatied the players and got back on track and the have so far proved the critics wrong, in my opinion before that game maybe the players thought it was going to be a walkover this season but they were wrong. I must say i got to credit the players after that horrible defeat at Old Trafford because some players maybe would'nt have the mentality to come back from an awful defeat and rolled over but we've only lost 2 twice since that defeat and are unbeaten since we lost to Newcastle.

Course it was a good thing. I said back then I was happier to lose 6-1 than to lose 1-0, cos it showed us that we were far too complacent after our early season form and needed to step up our effort and consistency if we were to win the league. Ditto with the matches against Blackburn and Newcastle. Being a great team isn't about avoiding defeats, it's about learning from them and getting better.

No it wasnt the 6 1 as in games after against Everton,Sunderland and Swansea we were dire and just about scrapped 1 0 wins, but since the back to back defeeats to Newcastle and Blackburn respectively we have been playing some good stuff but havent been clinical in front of goal especially Welbeck who could of had 15 goals by now.saying that we have had a bit of luck here and there and done enough to get the results to date.

That's true, those 1-0 wins win you titles.

That match against City gave the players a kick up the back side in terms of our performance in that game.

Jaesus lads, City shat their pants and have pretty much run out of steam and have accepted 2nd or possibly 3rd. Ye are free and clear without ever being good this season. Says a lot for the teams beneath ye, the prem is certainly weaker than La liga, Real would have had this league over and done with in november

Yes, losing 6-1 at home to your local and title rivals can be good.

Actually it highlighted many of the problems that were seen even when putting 8 and 3 past Arsenal and Chelsea repsectively.

Most people realised that in those games, the opposition should have scored 5 at least and it took City to finally take the chances that most teams at OT were creating.

After the 6-1, we certainly tightened the ship in the league anyway for the most part.
