Maybe i myself along with others in years to come, will be saying the same thing................... When does it start, or more so, when did the problems start............................this goes way back.
Whilst everyone Blames Thatcher, let's remember it was the whole government. Those Tories desolated where I grew up! They ripped away the heart of the community until it wasn't a community at all! Can I please remind all you folks, the thread is about the plight of pensioners, not political leanings. Lets face it if you dont die, YOU WILL BE IN THE SAME ****. think about it and get it changed, for your own quality of life in" YOUR OLD AGE"
At gone 70 with 42 unvroken yrs of payment into the tax system what I would face me as a returning Brit?
Not great things my friend, borderline poverty as things stand, sorry to say that, but true. dont know what else to say realy.
I turned 65 in January ........... and yes, it is a shock to the system! Words like coat... cut... cloth ... spring to mind, unfortunately..
Bloody shock to the system, after a lifetime of work, for what? to be forgotten.............no way. Time folks woke up and smelled the coffee. Human rights for pensioners, is that too much to ask? granny tax what a ****in joke, pasty tax.......yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyoooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu what back to pensions, pay the pensioners their dues, the rest Must wait.
I have a couple of points, those who choose to live abroad and not pay into the tax system also often return home to the same benefits as those who have paid into the tax system all their lives. Many expats have returned from South Africa, who don't give a state pension or have a national health service. Return to the uk complaining at the state of this country but happy to take what it offered without contribution. With the government raiding the public sector pension pot to pay for the deficit left by the mega wealthy bankers. The whole pay into a pension ideal seems to be going up in flames. Indeed unless you are a wealthy banker your old age seems destined to be lived in uk standard poverty. However there are people who have claimed unemployment most of their lives still get the same pension. Wrong wrong wrong!
You said it brother, and not much I can add except,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,its wrong, our heros will be forever living in poverty, our workers who built our country, will live in poverty, you have a vote....use it give your mp ****,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,let the pensioner have a quality of life, unbeaten anywhere on earth, Japan reveres its old folk,,,,,,,,,why not us,,,,,,lets pave the way.
How Billy sorry I couldnt get there this weekend, father in law 95 mother in law 92, dog about 100 in dog terms, **** hit the fan, but we will have to do it another day, shame cos I was looking forward to meeting you. Think the old folks are beyond help. but I wont give up on pensioners rights........................never.
Bill – Exactly why just over 15 years ago I risked all the money I could get to start out on my own. God willing when the time comes to retire I’ll have enough to keep warm, healthy & tend to life’s needs without having to scrape by on the pension. I’ve been blessed to survive as long as I have I know, which when reading threads like this, remind me of it.
You should never forget where you came from, but you should make better with what you have. take care of your own, We are just latter day folks, prepare for your future, and your kids is all. the rest here could be hardship.SHOUTING FOR FOLKS IS ALL.
