There we go, proof that the ref was a cheat, he couldnt wait to give something against us.

refs should not be allowed to officiate teams they support, teams from where they live or games that could benefit or disadvantage their own teams.

Its almost got to that point for me. The game has been slowly destroyed by cheats on the field and in the suits. Its not far behind athletics and cycling now, albeit in a different way.

Gaelic is going the same way. I find myself drawn more and more to Rugby as its the only football game left with integrity. Soccer's gone to sh*t.

all the big leagues including ours have divers, its part of the training these days. i cant stand it myself as i think cheaters should never prosper in anything, today some players are very good at fooling the officials so you cant blame them but i would give a 10 match ban should anyone gets caught and is proven categorically that it was a dive.....enjoyed the game today but i think united would have won anyway, i hope you manage to stay up with us and norwich and look forward to playing you next game.......

Shocking reading. I agree in this instance and Flyer brought this up during the game. It's actually hard to get your head around the fact that the FA allows this to happen when appointing refs to each game.

I was just saying we shouldn't be whining like the Liverpool fans do everytime something goes against them.

The FA has always been riddled with Masons.
The Masonic links are especially strong historically in the Lancashire clubs.
Bolton fan Lee Mason made a very questionable decision today.

Players cheat but I don't think officials do, they are just incompetent. I love rugby, but the ref is far too important in it now and the rules have got way too complicated, and some are just ignored - when was the last time you saw a straight put in at the scrum. Mind you, some faith restored with the English destruction of the Irish pack at Twickenham ( sorry Swords!) I spent the last 60 minutes of the game waiting for the ref to make the scrums uncontested, thank god he didn't....
    Way off topic now.....

Yeah putting the disappointment of today's result to one side for the moment I think that integrity is the thing to be looked at long term. If the game has no integrity then why watch. I haven't watched athletics for many many years because I became disillusioned with all the drug taking, and lost faith in the authorities ability to catch the cheats. Football must be seen to be - and actually be - whiter than white. The authorities don't help at all with (occasional) laughable punishments for managers exerting undue pressure on officials or by appointing an apparent Bolton fan for this game. I'm not saying anything untoward has gone on by any means. It might just be incompetence but surely best to remove any such doubts by a more considered appointment.

Wonder how many officials would be acceptable if we properly checked their support. I would assume the vast majority support someone if they love the game enough to become refs. Someone ( not me) needs to build a giant spreadsheet to map out all the conflicts. Or more simply you could argue that if you support a premiership club you, you shouldn't ref a premiership match. Millwall and Leeds supporters couldn't ref any games because they hate everyone else.
Seriously, if there is no element of trust, we are doomed. Proper use of video technology will sort this out - instantly exposing the incompetent and making corruption much more difficult.

The FA would love it if we got relegated after Bernie's brief mugged them off over Faurlingate,
I have zero confidence in their integrity and even less confidence in the competence of their dodgy handshaking officials.

Sorry Norway, but I could have better articulated my comments.

What I'm trying to say is that the theatrics have worsened in the modern age. Whether this is to do with the influx of foreign talent, the fact that there's so much more (money) at stake or something else, I really couldn't say for sure. But I'm sure a lot of us can remember (certainly in the '70s and '80s) the Germans (for example) play-acting all the time, whilst our internationals stood there somewhat perplexed at the bookings (or worse) that they themselves received. There were times when a Kraut would keel over at the slightest whiff of an English fart and roll and roll and roll in faux agony from the halfway line into the penalty area.

Sure, there was a certain amount of play acting in the English game too, but as you rightly say the game was a lot harder back then as well. It wouldn't surprise me if some players chose going to ground early as a better option than feeling the bite of a tackle from a Norman Hunter or Chopper Harris.

It helps these days with approx 173 camera angles, but I agree it has gone to a whole new embarrasing level.

I'm not saying you're wrong re the germans but that's not my take on them as I see them as the ones closest to the English game. Then again, a German would go to any length to win, even if it be diving and playacting.

Funny thing though, some of the renovned hard men where also the biggest cheats. Numero uno that comes to mind was Billy Bremner, but no shock there as he was a part of Dirty Leeds.

Think the discussion has moved on from the result Justin, more into are refs corrupt or not. I don't think they are, but others do.
Not upset with the result at all. The only thing that pisses me off with Utd is that they let Blackburn beat them.
We will win all our home games and at Chelsea.

It's painful but we as a club have a job to do to stay in this division
We have had some horrible decisions against for sure ... Character is measured IMO by how you react to this you can let it eat you or you can move on ... I would never like to become a sore loser like a Chelsea
Fan .... Discuss how we are going to beat the Swans as this is now the next big priority and we must take six points from the next two games
    Forget United it's gone

So everything has to be discussed PRIOR to games and then we're not allowed to discuss things afterwards?
