It's going to be a real decision next year, irrespective of where we're playing: do we still rely on the fullbacks for width as much as we have this season? We put an awful lot on the plate of Fox and Richardson, and the result is that we leave space on the counter. Down the road we might have to consider either going to a blood-and-thunder defensive mid, or 3 CBs with Fox/Richardson playing as true wing-backs. This hurt; got in to work right after Sharp's second went up on the BBC website. Closed it down thinking that we'd won. Checked by two hours later on break, couldn't believe the result.

See my earlier post. I was told we'd lost so a draw was a huge relief. Same result, vastly different effect on 2 people. Commiserations...but we are still top pf the league.
I've been making this point for quite a few weeks. Certainly long before the Blackpool hammering. If we go up, I don't think we have any choice but to sign two very decent wingers. And even if we don't go up, I still think it's something which Adkins will have to look very carefully at. Swansea have proven that you can play two pacey wingers, but still play patient, passing-it-out-from-the-back football. Having wingers, particularly pacey wingers, does not mean that you have to be a counter-attacking team like Blackpool or Spurs.
