While things are great it's sad to see Demba looking sad and to some degree unfair he's having to play out of position at times. I think on Monday the Ba chants need ringing out for him over and over again.

He looks positively suicidal. Seriously, all he needs is a goal and he'll be fine.

I think he just wasn't happy at being substituted which was fair enough, at least he didn't storm down the tunnel or whatever. He's done a marvellous job for the team and deserves credit, thought he had a shocker on the ball yesterday but still worked very hard at his defensive duties regardless. If I was him I wouldn't worry too much at Cisse stealing the limelight, we still adore you Demba Ba!

I'm not serious about thinking he's going to kill himself woodbrain. I'm simply aware he isn't smiling as much these days and want him to score. He will need support and I've not heard many Ba chants for a while to be fair.

Out of interest, do you remember hearing us chant Ba's name even after he was subbed? Might be wrong, but that's great if we did!

Ba and all the guys had their names chanted throughout the game. Possibly none more so than Perchino.

Quality! Demba will know he's still a god amongst Geordies. Away fans did us proud once again during a televised game, heard them throughout.

can hardly blame them not going to lie it wasn't pretty but that's gotta be one of the performances of the season so solid as a unit never let our heads drop against the relentless defending and the first top 6 side to come away with a victory! and a comprehensive one at that!... completely different to the Newcastle of 4 years ago!

He's a big man, puts in a great shift. And besides at the end of the day newcastle are winning matches and when Cisse is in such form Ba doesn't need to keep scoring. Having said that he will start scoring again.

Ba did well for the team. Is he playing in a role that shows him in his best light? No but he is professional enough to understand that results speak for themselves. I'd rest him on Monday but only because I think the season is taking its toll and so is his new role. That said a goal will perk him up. I don't think the issues people are trying to create are actually there. I think people underestimate how professional the guy is. More than anything he is playing well. He is improving as a player by taking on the role too because it'll add another string to his bow. One of the many reasons we've done is being able to adapt during games and because we work for each other and put the team first. Don't know about anyone else but I think I've not seen a player don a shirt this season and not stick to those principals. Shola maybe early doors but he has been very good of late workrate wise when he has come on to do a job.

I don't know what will happen in the summer with Ba. I do think some european action may entice him to stay regardless, and winning will help. While Cisse is in this kind of form, he plays through the middle. Ba will get his turn and like yesterday swap during games. Cisse's attitude is first class. I don't mind saying it this early, I think we have a world beater on our hands.

He doesn't look suicidal. He just needs a goal. He's been so close so many times, but it just isn't going for him.

Once he gets a goal, I think he'll be putting Cisse back in his place again haha.

But who is better, Cisse at his best or Ba at his best? :O

    Difficult one to decide.

Ba was a beast in form. Cisse is definitely the better finisher, but Ba was a huge physical threat and he's better in the air than Cisse is. Also Ba is quicker over a long distance than Cisse. However, Cisse's ball control and football are both beast.

I'd have to say in terms of effectiveness on the pitch, when they're both in form, you can't separate them, but I think Cisse is that touch more technical.

Cant remember which pundit it was but somebody said we had the buy of the season in Cisse. Im like, forgetting someone? Ba will be back no doubt, one goal will lead to others and that will be the end of the miserable speculation.
