They have a good scouting system, and that's partially the reason, but how do they get so lucky that the players they buy turn out to be better than everyone first thought? With Cisse, they payed like 8m so It's not a massive surprise he's scoring. But they've bought so many cheap or free players recently that have turned out to be gems that no one else really saw. How the **** do they get so lucky with players randomly starting to perform as well as they have? Players like Tiote, Ba, Cabaye all could be sold for over 20 million. I know Newcastle have a good scouting system, but I doubt even the scouts thought that some of the players they picked out for cheap bargains would turn out like they have. No one thought Ba and Tiote would be as good as they are. They have a good scouting system, and that's partially the reason, but how do they get so lucky that the players they buy turn out to be better than everyone first thought?
Tiote was well scouted, the rest of the list were well known. It's not luck, it's called not dragging your heels and getting a deal done. We could have had Ba before he went West Ham, and Cisse several times. They got the deals done. We have a new team in place now dealing with the financial side, we will move faster going forward. Ba had an outstanding goal sper game record pre-West Ham, and continued it at West Ham. He wasn't a surprise really, just an injury hazard.
Maybe, but as a mag, I hate him too . If he wishes to ostracise himself then so be it however I think he is one of yours!
Someone had the acumen to sign them - maybe the whole team involved in the decision-making deserve the credit.
Graham Carr was on the radio the other day talking about how he has been watching these players since 14 - 15 in obscure youth teams and so on. It's called doing your job well. Almost all fans, ALL British pundits and I think a large proportion of managers and chairmen have had their collective ignorance of world football exposed by our dealings this season. You simply have to look hard to find good players, rather than believing the nonsense about having to spend £30mil or getting blinded by the hype surrounding one player (almost always one playing for a PL team, or Barca / Real, or an English one - demonstrating how little some of these guys really know) Im not at all surprised a bit of business acumen and common sense has stolen a march on many PL football clubs. Its not luck at all
He mentioned it several times, but preferred the idea that we've been 'lucky' and stumbled our way to fifth place after 30 odd games
This plum is one of yours pal, trying very unsuccessfully to WUM. No Sunderland fan says you've been lucky to get where you are. You've earned every penny of it.
Colo has been a huge influence this year hasn't he. Couple of year's ago he seemed totally out of his depth, but he has obviously worked hard and come good for the club.
Colo was a factor in us getting relegated, he was a total liability. The championship made him as a newcastle player, in the same way as Enrique, Carroll, Raylor and Krul. But many of our players just seem to have upped there game every season for 2-3 years now, no idea how the backroom staff have achieved this but wowzer its impressing. Colo is huge for us, Perchinho is god though.
You have to remember Newcastle are a huge club. They can attract big names and like said before they have a terrific scouting system. They also find the best ways of utilizing their players skills. I mean they put jonas in the middle of the park yesterday to utilize his strength. And they dropped Cisse to left back when they were under the cosh because he has pace. If you look at liverpool. They ping balls in to carroll at knee height and expect him to score. They need to get the ball wide and put it on his head. Basically they get the best out of their players.
Personally I think the club is benefiting from being well run for the first time in ages. The current ownership got off to shall we say a poor start! But his desire and knowledge of how not to lose money in business and his love of a challenge has forced him to take a closer grip on the reins. You can look at Pardews man managment or handling of the media, the lacks of negative media, Colo's influence, the scouting, the boards willingness to take players when they're available, the players application or any other positive factor, its the combination of these things that brings success. It is often said that what you see on the pitch reflects what you see in the background at a football club. Its a cliche but it is often very true.
This bloke is definitely a wum! Only ever posts about Newcastle in an attempted thick as **** way. Piss poor.
