Has anybody heard anything regarding this or are the club still waiting that the decomposing corpse in the corner which is our play off hopes may miraculously spring into life before deciding prices?
Yeah, the club are wanting to see whther or not we have any chance (which we don't) before deciding on prices. No doubt they'll be released after a scrappy win against Donny and a poor loss at Ipswich.
whatever happens im sure they will be going up, just not as much when we dont get promoted, and they realise were in the championship again next season lol..............
I dont think prices should go up if you get promoted. Yes you see a better standard of football but you are seeing 4 less games
to be honest, its only the finances that makes me want our club to gain prem status, the rest of it is a load of b******s, plastic fans, and tv who only care about the big clubs, we will be neither wanted or welcome, in the financial world that rules the prem league, football is secondary its all about money...........
I thought you were saying we have plastic fans at first! No I agree, the Prem always felt...hollow no me, with fewer teams to genuinely compete against. I remember the old "write-off" games against the likes of Man U and Arsenal away, which I barely cared about because of the disproportionate financial fortunes of us and them at the time. Great if you win (don't think we ever did in the league), but even then, only three points felt like insufficient reward for such an Herculean effort. So after you start chalking off fixtures like that, which would be even worse now you've got Chelsea and Man City (although Liverpool seem as beatable as ever!) before you know it there's about 28-30 fixtures in which you have a chance of winning. Compare that to 46 winnable fixtures in this league (virtually for any club!) and it's like half a season!
The days that were worth remembering when we were last in the Prem were those like the 1-1 draw with Everton. Giving Rooney no end of stick before he scored a beauty then getting a last minute equaliser! Not to mention the 4-0 vs Leeds
all good days, but alas i fear the financial might of so many of the prem teams has lessened the chances of repeating many of our past prem glories. It all seems a very long time ago, but i remember alot of it was very enjoyable, things have moved on since those days, and def not for the better, sky has alot to answer for, and in my opinion have def not helped football, in fact they have only served to push up player wages, ticket prices, and increase the number of matches that no longer take place at 3pm on sat Yes i want us to get promoted, for the finances, and the tv coverage, tho exceedingly biased in sky's case, but i realise we wont be on unless were playing man u or the likes lol, as that will be the only time we even register on sky's radar. All of this is assuming of course that we do actually at some point make the jump to the prem, and to be honest, im not holding my breath on that one lol
