Are they related? A prize pair of plonkers, both prone to making an exhibition of themselves. But at least Tim W gets payed for acting the fool.
May just be sticking my head on the line here, but given how he has performed recently and in the other derby I wouldn't like to see guly start, I think someone like Cork would be better, I know he isn't a natural wide man, neither are Dean and Morgan, and I know Jack isn't a Saint from a young age, but he is English and would know more about the derby than Guly, and Jack puts himself about more than Guly, so for those reasons I would like the team to start out like this (Left to Right) Davis Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox Cork, Hammond, Schneiderlin, Lallana Lambert, Sharp Subs: Guly, Martin, De Ridder, Chaplow, Barnard
cannot wait for this game, but i will be dreading it come saturday. I can categorically state that we will win 4-1 though.
Surely we have to play Guly in the hole as that is where he has played his best football this month. It is not just about blood and thunder or being English but being able to open the opposition up. If Lambert is not fit we will need both himself and Sharp to perform.
No I would go with Dean and Morgan lying a bit deeper than Adam and jack to start off with, but if that doesn't work I would be inclined to go to the trusty diamond with Morgan Deep-lying, Jack and Dean left and right respectively with Adam playing just behind Billy and Rickie
In my opinion, and I have been to every game in the past 2 months and haven't seen anything special from Guly, so that is why I would go for Jack out of the two, of course if Guly was playing 8/10matches I would put him in the hole, but I haven't seen anything special
Nope. Unfortunately, since returning from injury, his performances have been near dreadful. Time to get Puncheon back involved.
------------------------------------------Davis----------------------------------------- --Richardson----------------------Fonte-----------Hooiveld------------------------Fox-- --Guly---------------------------Hammond--------Schneiderlin---------------------Lallana-- ---------------------------------Lambert---------Sharp---------------------------------- Subs: Martin, Cork, Puncheon, De Ridder, Barnard/Connolly. 1-0/2-0 win. Sharp with the only goal/both goals.
Although I do agree that Chaplow has been below par since his return from injury, I just really feel that this is exactly the sort of game in which he will thrive in and would definitely have him in the 16. --------------------Davis----------------- Richardson-----Fonte-----Jos-------Fox--- Guly-------Hammond----Schneiderlin-----Lallana ----------Lambert--------Sharp--------------- Subs: Martin, Cork, Chaplow, De Ridder, Barnard
Oh and 3-1 Saints, hopefully with an early goal to settle nerves, does anyone if pubs will be open in town before the game??
Welcome Crespin28SFC; what about against Barnsley, I thought that Guly was highly influential playing just behind the forwards in the second half for example. I am not sure he is the right player for midfield, however if Lambert is unfit surely we will need him upfront?
You're right Fran - just checked out Saints Player and there is nothing since Blackpool. Mind you, it is only Thursday and the game is Saturday - something fishy (not the Skates!) if nothing up tomorrow...
Preview on OS says that Lambert is set to return for the match, very good news and I am now even more confident of victory.
