Krul is a class keeper - Mignolet isn't far behind but Krul would be first choice for me

I don;t think Newcastle's defence is as good as everyone else does - the keeper made loads of world class saves at the start of the season which stopped the team from conceding and gave them the "Best defence" - if the defence is that good the keeper shouldn't have that much work to do IMO (Look at our defence against City in both games - our keeper hardly had shots to save as we got the ball out of the box before it got to that) that is the sign of a good defenceIMO
Fully fit I'd have: Bardsley, O'Shea, Saylor, Colback at the back (Colback may be a midfielder but he's tremendous at Left Back)
Midfield: Cattermole and Cabaye - I've watched a lot of Tiote and Cattermole this season and Cattermole has much better vision and is as good in the tackle as Tiote - these are both excellent players and if you had the option of both of them for a squad it'd be a tough decision - although Cattermole isn't a soft twat!
AM - HBA, Sessegnon and McClean - personally I think these 3 pick themselves
CF - Bendtner.............<whistle> Ba or Cisse - would play either of them

    So my side would be

    --------------Krul---------------
    Bardsley, O'Shea, Taylor, Colback
    -----Cabaye, Cattermole---------
    --Ben Arfa, Sessegnon, McClean--
    -----------Cisse or Ba------------

I'd go very similar to your team:

    Krul
    O'Shea Colla Saylor Bardsley
    Tiote Cattermole
    HBA Sess McClean
    Cisse

Hard to leave out Ba but I just can't fit him in <laugh>

Need to see Cabaye for another season before judging him, but I reckon that team would be awesome.

I think it's actually very close tbh. The recent derby result points to this, the first one that Sunderland could actually compete in for a few years without the hindrance of the obese geordie fool in charge. In fact I think since O neill has taking over the results of the two teams have been very similar. So it will make an interesting season next season when we may get a better idea as Sunderland won't have the handicap of bruce and newcastle could possibly have the handicap/blessing of the europa league.

I know which squad of players I would choose as a manager.

Kudos to the OP though, 2 or 3 days and still not banned for extreme wummery. Well done.

    I'd play:

    >>>>>>>>>>KRUL

    Bardsley>>Taylor>>COLO>>Santon

    Ben Arfa>>CABAYE>>TIOTE>>SESSEGNON

    >>>>>>>>CISSE>>>Ba

    OR...

    >>>>>>>>>>Krul

    Bardsley>>Taylor>>COLO>>Santon

    >>CABAYE>>TIOTE>>Larsson

    >>>Ben Arfa>>>>>>>SESSEGNON
    >>>>>>>>>>CISSE

Players in CAPS are locks for the XI IMHO. The Taylor / Colo and Cabaye / Tiote pairings are very strong, and it would be a divvy who broke them up. The way our midfield set about Man United earlier in the season was unreal.

I suspect Newcastle will sign a LB in the close season, with Santon moving to right back, where I think the kid will blossom. Simpson's days are numbered unless he signs a reasonable contract. I'd be guessing Sunderland will bring in a new striker (or keep Bendtner) and sign a left back yourselves? Should be a great North East season next term, no reason why both clubs can't be top 10 (or greedily.....AT LEAST!).

Can we not make it a front 4 and have an all conquering 4-2-4 formation? :D

It's going to be fun in the close season seeing who's chasing who.

This but with O'Shea right back, Bardo left back and Saylor in for Colback.

Isn't it unforgivingly ludicrous to include 7 of your players into a top 6 team 12 points ahead of you?
