The reason I'm saying that is because we won't keep our best players this summer regardless of where we finish and why? wages, signing on fees and agents wanting their payday ! The likes of Ba, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cabaye will have their heads tuned by their agents. Mike Ashley and along with the agents will be frothing at the mouth.

If reading this makes you mad it's because you know I'm right.

Don't give me the loyalty bollocks either

FFS over the years we have sold our best players and always come back.
Have we missed Carroll, Nolan or Barton, no.

Don't get me wrong I hope not but some of our players are outstanding. I suppose the club will think they can keep getting better ones for less but I don't.

What are we letting Graham Carr go???? NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO

Seriously Mr.T change the record, we are nowhere near the end of the season and you are spreading the doom already FFS.

We have players tied down on long term contracts which only a select few clubs can afford to pay to get them. Tiote still has something like 5 years left on his contract which will put a price tag of around £20 million on his head.
We might lose the odd one, but for what it'll cost we'll get other players in with and still have change from it.

I don't want to see players go, but knowing what we have in place etc I'm not to concerned.

    Bring on the summer

I honestly think Tiote will go, but I reckon there's a decent replacement out there for a quarter of the price we'll get (I'd say about £20m). Ba might go if we don't get the contract sorted. That's it in terms of important players. Cabaye and Ben Arfa will stay for at least another year.

In some respects I agree with you. For example there is no such thing as loyalty in football and agents are always going to want that elusive next pay day, but as for the rest of it you remind me of the Scottish guy from Dad's Army with your doom and gloom statements. With an attitude like yours I'm surprised you don't believe the world will end in December in which case all of the above players leaving won't make a jot of difference....

Let's look at it logically though. Firstly you've missed Krul, Cisse and Colo off our list of best players, but obviously we've only just signed one and the other two have been tied down to new long term deals. The fact they've been signed up encourages me that the board realise the importance of keeping our best players and adding to it.

Tiote is on a long term contract and Cabaye must have at least 4 years left, so it will cost stupid money for a club to even agree a fee with us for one of those two. The board have already admitted anyone waving stupid money at us for a player will have their arm snapped off, which is exactly the right way to approach things.

At the end of the day if someone like Man City bids 30 million for Tiote I'm sure most fans would agree it would be a good deal for us considering the price we paid for him, but even then there are no certainties that he would want to leave if a bid were accepted. People say we are a selling club because Andy Carroll was sold over a year ago for a record fee, but Andy Carroll handed in a transfer request we didn't force him out the club to cash in. The club has to be self sustainable and we don't have the luxury of a crazed Russian or some Arabian billionaire family, so we have to accept trading players for the next few years.

While I do think someone will probably bid a stupid amount for one of our better players then should they want to leave then let them go as anyone who states they no longer want to be at the club should be shown the door in my opinion more fool them. There's plenty of examples that the grass isn't always greener.

I really cannot envisage any more than 1 of our best players leaving I really can't. Our financial figures released the last month show we are well on track to breaking even so we don't need to sell just for the sake of it to plug gaps in the numbers we can actually afford to play hardball with clubs and extract a further 5 - 10 million from opposition unlike the likes of Everton or Wigan who would just be desperate for the money

Well Simpson is leaving so bare that in mind cabbage bonce.

Anyway I'll save this till it's actually time! the funny thing is half the people slating me will be moaning when it happens. They usually say things like " we should not have expected anything else"

I choose to be honest to myself with my opinions and some people don't grasp the difference between realism and pessimism. If these arseholes could engage the one grey cell they have and get a grip of this, they might just start up normal respiration at least.

If you believe a year is a fairly accurate timescale then I wouldn't recommend you ever try and cook anything.
