seven games to go, maccs a, bantams h,millers h,vale h, ackers a, daggers h, wombles a. of these 7, 3 have a serious relegation issue and need the points---maccs,bantams and daggers the question is, are shrews capable of auto promo from these 7 forays. i do hope so but performances like home park, shots at home etc give me pause for thought. 4 home 3 away. i think town need 18 points although 15 may prove decisive. certainly gt has to sort out the lemons and play a couple up front who are up for it. in my view bradders should be at least on the bench or better, how much longer are town to rely on defence and midfield for goals. floreat salopia. what is needed is pride guts and determination, and certainly not ten green bootle standing on a wall!
I feel we will need to win all 7 remaining games to go up. It's not really in our hands, the the fact remains even if we win all our games 13-0, Torquay could win all theirs 16-0. Our superior GD will play a factor, but we need goals, we need wins, and we need people to step up to the plate at the right time.
Saturdays performance was not great, too many passes failed in that game. Until we win enough to secure auto then nothing less than a win will do. Bradshaw won't get a start until next season unless we get others infront of him injured or carded.
but what makes me furious is gt will not even put bradders on the bench, where is the encouragement to our youth. we appear to have a perpetual fruiting on the lemon tree up front. it is not good enough, name names yes i will. gornell and morgan are not good enough for our squad, so there, and young jamie better pull his finger out as well, as gt is already sorting the wheat out from the chaff for next season, be it L1 or L2. bring back bradders and floreat salopia!!
My mate with whom I usually go to Town games and share lifts with bumped into Bradders outside Sainsbury's after the game. He didn't say anything, I think he needed me there to ask Tommy boy why he's not even amongst the substitutes. He is a real victim of the bizarre decision to revert to 5 subs.
If you don't play as well as others in training or a reserves game you don't get in the 16 on a saturday. Turner has said in the press about Bradshaw improving himself so I assume that is what is happening. Grandison is a prime example of a dramatic improvement in what he does. I don't think it is the strikers who are totally at fault for the lack of goals, I think midfield is weaker than it should be. Wright can't tackle and is easily pushed off the ball, but provides goals. Taylor tackles well and causes hassle, but end product is in room for improvement. CM - Richards has some great moments and tackles well, bit doesn't seen to play well with Wroe. Wroe has great moments but needs a huge player by him to act as the muscle.
was it only 3 weeks ago shrews won 1-0 away at brum behind closed doors, and guess who scored our goal. sometimes gt makes me very angry at times
The last game Bradshaw came on in was earlier this year, I think just after christmas. I don't think he did anything of note in that appearance, just ran around a lot. Admittedly so do quite a few of our players on their all too frequent 'off' days.
Its all about which two from Crawley and Torquay and us can handle the pressure in the run in the most. But both clubs are just as likely to falter as we are and nobody is going to win all 7.
of the 3 contenders, the gulls have a more difficult run in, crawley and shrews run ins are "easier". but beware banana skins and lemons may be round the corner. and we cannot discount sarfend either. shrews need to just keep winning and no more home parks! floreat salopia
I think we are in a pretty good position to get 85 points, which should be enough. The three away games look winnable and we are still pretty strong at home despite the odd off day like on Saturday. We are in a battle so we need our warriors like Marvin to start. Bradshaw has clearly not impressed Turner this year and I think we need to respect the manager's judgement on this one - he has forgotten more about football than I will ever know.
I will be happy to see us get a couple of 'confident' wins under our team's belt, too many dodgy draws and losses of late for my liking.
