Why would Liverpool be our rivals more so than any other EPL team?....they're all our rivals. For us, the Mackems have a special place and always will, you need to worry about Everton more than worry about us. Kyut is off the mark, your squad is not better than ours. Without prejudice, I'd only take Gerrard, Aggers and Enrique over our players...maybe Suarrez. Ba, Cisse, Tiote, Cabaye, Collocini, Krul and Ben Arfa are some of the best in the league at what they do.
We have no rivals, apart from Sunderland. You guys are too far behind us so don't feature much on our radar (only time you do is during the cup semi final) and the teams above us are better than us by some distance.

Always wondered how "loyal" Liverpool fans would be if they had the appalling "success" rate of Newcastle. Either supporting other clubs or being stay aways is my guess. Newcastle are 11 points ahead of Liverpool and are vying for 4th place so can't really be considered rivals. West Brom and Norwich are more in Liverpool's league at the minute.
If that is what helps you sleep at night then very well. Just shows how far you have slipped. Although I will say, if you win the FA Cup too, then I would deem your season as a somewhat successful one.
