Don't know why Williamson got sky MOTM because I thought it was Perch easily for me.

Williamson though had a bit of a shakey start, but overall he was good and solid. Credit to Perch and Willo because they did a great job under so much pressure and in such an important game.

Carroll - **** off back to Merseyside you diving, lanky, gypsy twat!

    Reina - Hhahahahahahahaahahhaa

Enrique - You could have had 6th! Suck on it hahahahahahahahah.

Seriously though - Not as good as WBA performance, but still, we look like a team that can go places and we played some ****ing fantastic football at times during the game. For a weakened defence we held together well.

    Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Very shakey at times, no communication with the CB. We totally miss Colo. But he made some crucial touches to save us conceding early goals.

Simpson - 7 - Did well. Solid enough.

Willo - 8 - Maybe a bit generous in rating but the lad has done well to get over his bad patch, and he did a solid enough job.

Perch - 10 - The bloke did fantastic. He's even winning things well in the air. How high can this ****er jump? He's only 5ft 8, but his grasshopper legs carry him to 7ft 8! Rofl

Jonas - 6 - Got raped early on and at times at the match, but I think he did well considering he's had to play out of position. He dealt well with pressure at times.

Guthrie - 7 - Some good movement and good passing.

    Cabaye - 7.5 - Best game he's had in a while.

Tiote - 8 - Some people may not agree he was this good, but the bloke sweeps up sticky situations around our box, and constantly gets back and puts in a crucial foot or a touch at the back. He covers players well and he did that today. Great return. Still not his best but great.

Ben Arfa - 7.5 - Quiet second half, but great first half, great cross for the first goal, and played a vital part in the second. Skinned Enrique a few times and looked threatening.

Ba - 7.5 - Some great hold up play, knock downs and made a couple of good chances.

Cisse - 9 - Two great goals, some fantastic composure, he's shown that he's not just an instinctive striker. There's been a couple he's had to think about now, and that 2nd goal was pure class.

Gosling - N/A - Send him back to Mersey side with the Liverpool players. He's ****ing ****e.

Overall - Very, Very promising. Against a stronger attacking team, in form, we probably would have been punished, but our make shift defence did very well under the pressure it was in.

    HOWAY THE LADS!!

Well I'm loving Perchy with each passing game, how he throws his body either to the tackle or to block a shot... Feels great to be a Newcastle fan today lads!! Ben Arfa and Cisse, what more can I say? Those two are showing the quality that they have in them..

Perchy is quick isn't he? His movements, reactions and sprint speed.

    Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Didnt have a lot to do today, although some more belief in his defence, his error could have led to a suarez goal if it wasnt for perchy.

    Simpson - 7 - Solid Enough.

Willo - 7 - Knew he would have problems with Carroll , but coped well.

Perch - 10 - MoM for me. Had a stormer in place for colo. Superb tackles, headers. By far best player.

Jonas - 6 - Really struggled first half against bellamy, was worried this was going to be the route to a pool goal. But Pardew had faith to put him for the second too.

Guthrie - 6 - Anonymous for me today.

Cabaye - 7 - Not his best game today, some poor overhit balls.

Tiote - 9 - Great to have him back, was solid throughout.

Ben Arfa - 8 - Great to have him in from the start, provides creativity and scares defenders. Another good game for me. Would have loved to see him run at enrique in goal :)

Ba - 8 - Proving to be a bit a playmaker old BA, great game, seems to accept his more supportive role to Cisse being the poacher.

Cisse - 9 - Good Goals, second just shows his composure. 7 in 7 now. Give Carr a payrise!

Gosling - N/A - Not convinced by this lad. In fairness never really had much gametime.

Overall - Great game, we were controlled, attacking and a brilliant defence job with hour hashed defence.

Krul - 6.5 - Nothing to do bar one good save
    Simmo - 7 - Solid Enough
Willo - 8 - Lead the back four and was strong in the air and physically
Perch - 9.5 - I don't think he dived, you have to go down these days to get a decision. It's a problem with our game not with him. He was fantastic and should have been MOTM but I'm glad he was protected from the interview as it could have been awkward
Gutierrez - 5.5 - He really struggled but fair play he's putting a shift in which is great to see
Tiote - 8.5 - Great to have him back, he was the unsung hero of the game but he went about his job superbly. Hope he stays.
Cabaye - 6.5 - Felt he was below average today tbh
Guthrie - 6.5 - He put a shift in, again I hope we can get him to stay on about 30-35k a week. He's worth it and really grown as a player this season
HBA - 8.5 - Crucial part in both goals, quiet 2nd half but fantastic first. No surprise that we've hit top form as he's hit top form.
Ba - 8 - He's having to do a job on the left now we have Cisse and it's good to see him do it. Hope he scores soon but he played well and his strenght and power is a useful outlet
Cisse - 8.5 - Took his chances really well, hope he can maintain his fom (ie isn't a yakubu!) he's a real predator and could get a hatful of goals feeding off of the key cog, Ben Arfa

Slightly gutted Reina misses the cup semi final, that said I'm not convinced the Europa league is something we want. I'm happy for 4th place or bust. That in mind come on Swansea :D

4th is going to astronomical in my opinion...5th though, is actually very possible as Chelsea aren't too good this season(doesn't matter if its the Di Matteo factor or whatever)...

I'm aiming for 4th. Yes it's unlikely. But not impossible, we just battered Liverpool ffs. We have a tough run in but a lucky win or two and we could be right there. Chelsea have the CL to think about, Spurs have the FA Cup and are out of form. If they don't beat Swansea today we can perhaps start to dream :D

Yea...Additionally I'm quite puzzled about the many permutations and how exactly can we qualify for the Europa League now...

Worried in case the Red Scousers lose to the Blue Scousers in the semi final now

If Liverpool get to the cup final, we get Europa league with 6th place. If Everton beat Liverpool in the semi's, then we need 5th.

Ok..So if Everton beats Liverpool in the semi's, and Chelsea wins the UCL(somehow) but they are 6th place in the league, we are 5th, we don't qualify for Europe?

Rofl well lets rule out Chelsea winning the CL FOR THE MOMENT.

If we finish 6th and Liverpool get to the final, we get into Europe. If we're 6th and Everton get to the final, we don't get into Europe. If we finish 5th then we're definitely in Europe next season no matter what happens in the cup <ok>

You can be sure Liverpool will lose to Everton and that we don't finish 5th.

Sounds crazy but would it be the end of the world if we dont play in the europa ?? I mean i would take it but the money value of winning it is less then the cost to actual play in it, the squad we have is to small for the prem so imagine if we had another 20 games like birmingham, stoke etc i would rather aim for improving in the prem and going for the domestic cups. All the teams in the europa league have struggled this season in the prem

Perch MOTM, now we are seeing why Pardew showed so much faith in the lad.
Tiote close second thought he had a good game, but the whole team were up for it today.
