    James Perch & mike williamson at the back highlights the lack of strenght and depth we have, I would have been confident we could beat kennys bargain buys but instead i am hanging on to the fact we will still be 5 points clear.
    the names above or simply not good enough williamson is championship standard at best with perch being slightly better this yr.

    I have always hated liverpool even more so since juddas carroll left for that cheap price so it would have been great to do them today.
    We have had a great season this year but ashleys failure to strenghten in a major part of the park has been a real farsce look at the away game at norwich for example.

    Look at our defence
    Santon = good going forward but more confident on the right
    williamson = say no more
    perch = average squad player who is better further away from his own goal [but getting better]
    Simpson = not good enough poor awarness and lack of concentration [look at the spurs game for a reminder] one gd game in 5 on AV

    The only way we will get something out of today is to keep gerrard in our pockets who i hate to say is class and lets hope we are on the ball up top with tiote back too in the midfield

    Don't even want to think about losing to Liverpool today, will put the brakes on my entire weekend, not even kidding. I'll take a draw happily, but if we beat them it will be so so sweet especially if it was convincing. Anything but a loss really.

    I'll look at their line up before making predictions, if Johnson and Agger are back for them it'll be a lot harder for us.

    TBF it reminds me of my thoughts of losing to the smb in our own back yard, johnson is pony at defending good on the attack tho

    I'll be very disappointed if we don't win 3-1 with Cisse getting the first goal, and I don't pick up on my bet.

    Oh yeah and I hope Bellers isn't playing for them, he will absolutely make a fool out of our defence especially if Ryan Taylor plays.

    It would be typical Newcastle to miss an opportunity to pretty much secure 6th place, going 11 pts clear of Liverpool and staying in the running for 5th place and also being back within 2pts of a CL spot.

    I hate to say it, but you couldn't have got it more wrong - Williamson & Perch played a blinder today and were, along with Cisse & Ben Arfa, the best players on the pitch.

    Gerrard & Bellamy had absolute stinkers to boot.

    <sorry>

    Agree Perch was superb but williamson is still shocking and one gd game does nt make me change my mind and as stated up top we needed to be of our game which we were and some.
    We still need strenght and depth as we can't relay on the likes of williamson and simpson going forward fact.
    however we beat liverpool the team i hate as much as sunderland.
    Gerrard and bellamy were **** but are s till decent players
