Newcastle manager Alan Pardew can’t wait to unleash Cheik Tiote back on the Barclays Premier League.
The Ivory Coast midfielder has missed Newcastle’s last two games with a hip problem but like Ryan Taylor looks certain to return against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The former FC Twente destroyer, who has become a major player for Newcastle, was back to snapping at his team-mates in training on Friday. And Pardew is ready to let him loose on Kenny Dalglish’s men.

Pardew said 'He is the lion of our team and like any lion who has been down in the dumps he came back this morning and let everyone know he’s back, let out a few roars, had a couple of scuffles.'We are better for it. Not everyone was pleased to see him back but as the coaching staff, we smiled, and he managed not to kill anyone so we are ok.'

So it seems like we were right after all... Cheik feasts on his teammates before the game, and lets out primal roars that jinx opponent attackers from scoring..

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

"Cheick Tiote has missed the last two games due to a hip problem but, like Ryan Taylor, is looking to return vs Liverpool"

Surely Pardew isn't thinking of taking off Ben Arfa and putting on Raylor for this game?

Unless Raylor is going to be playing LB?

I doubt that he'll swap Ben Arfa for Raylor, he'll probably be playing LB

Yeah, I'd put Raylor LB. Santon isn't good enough defensively (yet). He'd be destroyed by Kuyt.

His ability is excellent on the ball, and he's got decent physical power and can tackle well.

It's the tactical side of his game that needs improving.

I don't see anything wrong with Santon, he has been far better at RB than R.Taylor ever was.

Been a bit disappointed with Santon, so disagree with you there, though I think next year we'll see a much improved Santon.

Santon's clearly a good footballer but he's not been a good defender. Luckily it's stuff you can teach him so he should be better next season but I'd start with Raylor LB too

I think reason anyone would be disappointed in Santon is because he's been hyped up quite a bit by foreign critics and other fans, and when he first came he looked beast on the ball and showed great potential, so everyone expected him to be a beasty fullback all round.

People don't seem to realise is still learning at this level, he's still young and he's still far better than Colo and Enrique were after this amount of time here, and he's still younger than they were!

    Give him time!

He is a good defender, he's just not used to the premier league yet.

He has some good defensive abilities, it's just the positioning and reading of the game that lets him down, because he's not used to this style of play.

No one is claiming that Meyler is unlike Partridge who is claiming that Tiote is.

Jealous? I think from what I have seen of him he's massively overrated. I think Ashley maybe just hyping him and someone will pay daft money for a player of average ability.
