Unbelievably former CEO, (the one who oversaw the demise of the club) Peter Storrie, is proud of his time at Pompey and would love to return - really? His excuse is that he could only do what the owners told him to do. Also - the fans don't blame him, he's had a lot of support from them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17546102 So - hands up everyone who would love to see him back at the helm, guiding the club to financial security
I have no strong feelings against him really, and I certainly wasn't part of the witch hunt that surrounded him, but he's got too much history with the club to come back and would not be welcomed.
Maybe he thinks he can buy his way out of League 1 ? Certainly less expensive than the Championship and the purchase of a Cup
it depends what you mean by peter storrie: - the peter storrie who was chief executive from 2002 to 2006 who, along with harry, managed the limited resources given to him by milan very well and without any major overspending took us into the premier league and kept us there (hanging by a thread, but there). - the peter storrie who was chief executive from 2006 to 2010 who suddenly with the appearence of sashas "investments" went crazy with player and executive (i.e. himself) wages without any investment in facilities, training ground, ground to make us a viable asset to make us sellable in the future; on the gamble we could find another sugardaddy when sasha got bored, gambling that we still had the lure of top 10 football. any self respecting businessman would have a viable plan B, taking money out of income tax is not viable. this is the same peter storrie who seemed to spawn into the less portly david lampitt and try the exact same plan all over again. in conclusion, peter storrie was for half his term a great businessman and for the second half drove us to the brink of extinction (commonly known as an idiot). im going to pass on that thanks. besides i'd like to see him get anywhere near fratton park without an armed escort for those fans; who have the same view of him as me but with less diplomatic means of showing it, ie imagine sulemoneyless al-fahim at reading last season with the volume turned up slightly.
Did anyone think, as I did, that the longer PS Mark 2, as described by Gosport Christie, went along, the more he started to resemble Barry Fry?
He sure resembled him in the looks department, but Barry Fry was/is a geezer, whereas PS was/is a devious so-and-so. We do NOT ever want him back at Fratton Park
Hey, it could be worse? .. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...over-pompey-takeover-1-3685892?commentspage=2 .. Sh*t.
