Seaborne is defensively very good and over the summer had learned to pick out a pass and play the ball from the back. Had he not been injured we would not have signed Hooiveld. He also won't get skinned by the opposing CB like Martin was. This will be Aaron Martin's last season with the club. I would expect him to be at Bournemouth next season.
I'm gunna show you up here, but Hooiveld was signed BEFORE Seaborne got injured, so Hooiveld signed regardless
OK, whoop di ****ing do. Had Seaborne not been injured Hooiveld would not have gone straight into the team.
I'm not fussed. I'll leave that decision with Mr Adkins. He's with the players day in, day out - he'll know exactly who to pick.
Hooiveld was signed on Deadline Day, Trained alongside Seaborne and had a 1st Team Photo alongside Seaborne on the 1st September, and on the night of 1st September Seaborne had his injury Hooiveld signing: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2438073,00.html Seaborne injury: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-14762220
Hooiveld was signed on loan as cover as Mr Adkins felt as most supporters another CB was needed. What has been a extremely worrying period for Seaborne and his family has allowed Hooiveld to nail a first team spot and in my opinion is now by far, our best CB. Martin would have gone out on loan if these and the Jaidi injury had not had happened. It is true Mr Adkins preferred Seaborne over Martin and part of that reason was he had done a lower league apprenticeship and he was the left sided CB he needed to balance our defence. As regards to Seaborne back for Martin before the last game, well i think it is going happen. He is capable of playing left back and there might be a game or two that we will have to carry more attacking options on the bench as well as a game we possibly need more defensive cover on the bench.
Seaborne has done really well. Totally agree with your post mate. Think you got it spot on. I will be one of many fans ready to welcome Seaborne back into the team. Sorry Saints fan 4 life I know you are dead against Seaborne and always put him down. But I think you need to give the lad a chance he is just coming back from what could of been a life threatening injury. Great to see how well his recovery is going and the possibility of him playing for us again. The lad started the season well and is continuing hopefully where he left off. All the best to you lad. Agree with possum can see you featuring again before season ends
What a strange comment ? Not sure where you are coming from ! Would be interested to see How do you come to this conclusion ? Not a very good comment to say about our Mr Adkins who I am sure many on here would say, is a very professional manager.
I think you may of missed the point Gekko was making here. Hooiveld signed before Seaborne's accident but temp loan and additional CB. Seaborne regular first teamer only missing Leeds game due to illness ( If I remember right ) Hooiveld would not of walked straight into the side. However the point is Hooiveld did walk straight into the side after Seaborne's injury. That show's Martin was not even considered to play. Remember thinking at the time Martin would be gutted as this again showed he was lower in the pecking order.
Who ever is chosen then they will be expected to do a job and come off the bench buzzing. Martin has played several games this season with a mixed outcome and still comes under the development tag. Seaborne has started the season but due to injury has not had enough time to prove himself and is still a ? Lambo, Hammond, Harding and several others were being questioned at the start of the year were they good enough ? Look at them now. Can only be good having Seaborne fit again and pushing for a start
I've given him plenty of chances, and he hasn't impressed me in about 2 years Yes, its great to see him back from that injury, but as a player, I don't think he It was only meant to be a jokey comment that whenver fit, Seaborne plays but maybe not the best phrase to use and Whoever is tagging **** that I'm gay, talking drivel in the article why don't you ****ing grow up!?
Brandishing the word 'gay' around as an attempt for a jovial insult maybe fun for 13 year olds. But for the majority of posters, I doubt they'll find it particularly necessary is the context of this forum.
