We do have a slight score to settle From the last time we came down your way, That day we far from showed our mettle And boy , were we made to pay, This time though, without all the pressure On our gallant Canary men, We´re hoping it will be a pleasure To see Craven Cottage again, Seven long years we´ve been waiting And itching to put right that day, When we received quite a pasting Which ended our Premier League stay, No danger of that happening this time We´re both fairly safe on that score, And as new boys, that suits us just fine We couldn´t have asked for much more, But three points here, if they´re forthcoming Would feel sweet for those who were there, On that fateful day which was numbing And for many, still stands so clear, But such is the way of this great game That times sometimes have to be rough, Before returning from whence they came Those teams, who´re made of the right stuff, And now, with so many new faces From Coleman and Worthington days, Lambert P. and Jol and their aces Are building up for a new phase, So here´s hoping Saturday pm That a real treat will be in store, And, if six goals there should be again Perhaps this time we can score four. Yours affectionately,
Love it RBF! We do have a score to settle, though it won't be easy, like us, they wetre unlucky to lose to the reigning champions! I'd settle for a draw, I'm quite fond of the true Chelsea team!
Good reference to the true team in Chelsea! Good luck to the Canaries and have a good time at the Cottage. Looking forward to a good game. Hope we show up unlike against Swansea. Hoping this was a blip and we get a few in the ol' onion bag and a clean sheet.
Thanks for the poem (now that's a line you'd not expect to see on this site) and also the follow-up comment. If you are both coming to The Cottage on Saturday, enjoy the day. Although, if it is to be a 6 goals again, I'd not begrudge you two of them. Anyhow, it's good to see you're staying up. C O Y W
I shall be following proceedings as usual, from my perch here in Scandinavia, but heart and soul will as always be with the yellow army. Would happily take a draw, but how a win, however small, would erase those memories of 2005. Very glad you also seem to think we´ve done enough to prolong our stay for at least one more year.
