What has happened to Garcia. Have I missed something? I know we have far better players but that has never stopped any previous managers missing the fact he's a tool and then playing him anyway. I miss his low toned manly sounding interviews. Nice bloke, just not a footballer..
Well last I heard he couldn't get into the team, but now it's looking as if he can't get into the team
Always a serious candidate for the prestigious trophy of Clubman of the Year. I bet he's now In the Roary costume!!!
I always thought Garcia was one of our most under-rated players. He was great for us in the promotion season (our form dropped dramatically in the last 3 league games when he was injured) and was still good right up until his injury at the end of last season. He was playing vey well in the game he got injured in and I think he scored. I thought he'd definitely get a chance in the team when he came back. Is he unfit or does Nikc just not like him?
How much do you reckon joe dudgeon pays for his season ticket? He has the best seat in the stadium for the whole game, every game! As we have been pretty much using exactly the same squad since barmby took over i cant see garcia getting a game for quite a while, not that i agree with that at all, i think he would be a much better option than cameron stewart at the moment or even in the lone striker role, at least he can win a header!
Agreed. You have to wonder what these players do in training when the starting players can play badly and still not be dropped. Since NB took over there's Pusic, Adebola, Garcia, Simpson, Olifinjana and McShane completely out of the picture. I'm not saying I disagree with all of those but that's 6 players off the top of my head that NP played but NB thinks they aren't worth being anywhere near the squad. I'm not a big fan of McShane or Pusic personally but some of the others I find surprising.
When the problem is so glaringly obvious and has been for almost 2 seasons now surely there comes a time when you realise that the players you have in the formation you are playing either arent good enough or arent suited by the formation you are asking them to play. One of them has to change. As it appears the formation wont then the personnel have to change, its just so frustrating that we have these players that could do a job at this level, they have been proven, that are just being left to rot and not being given a chance. Even if just giving one of them dudgeons reserved spot on the bench and giving them 10 minutes at the end, its got to be worth a shot!
Yes. I thought someone would misunderstand that because I didn't word it very well. In his case, he was a first team player when fit under NP. But when NB came he was shipped out as soon as the window opened. Slightly different situation to the others but the same in that they were all considered good enough under NP but weren't good enough for Barmby.
Pusic was hardly a first choice player under Pearson either, he only ever played in two league games.
If im been honest I'd start Dudgeon over Daws every game, its not that I dont like him but I think Dudgeon just has more to offer (and is younger of course)
That's probably got more to do with his release than a lack of ability. You can't judge a player without ever seeing him play, not that it stops Blunderside listeners, and if he can't get fit you don't go giving him a contract extension.
I have to say I think that is really ungracious of a man who was one of our very best performers on the promotion season.
I think the lack of a real leader on the pitch is playing some part at the moment. It's shouldn't be all doom and gloom, we are still in a good position "if we start playing" in the manner of our best performances on a regular basis. This isn't Nicks team remember and I just hope he has a good discussion with the Allam's now or at the seasons end so this young team can get a better balance with a few new faces to freshen things up.
Totally disagree, I've never had him as a consistent performer or best performer, but that's my opinion...
I think thats pretty much the main problem - no real leadership. Both Robbie Koren and Paul Mckenna are both experienced quality footballers but neither are vocal in the way Ash clearly was - Mckenna even turned down the captaincy at the start of the season because he just wanted to play his own game at this stage in his career (not unduly criticising him for that..) We lack a hard man in the middle - someone that's able to boss the players (and the ref if necessary) - we are such a soft touch..
