2minutes still to go but to be fair this game is over and what can you say. First of all credit to Everton for the first 88minutes so far they have certainly been the better team deserve there lead. Everton are a really well drilled side nothing flash they just do what has got to be done and we have not competed at all we have been absolutely awful and we have made a pretty ordinary striker look like Messi. I was quietly confident we would come out of this victorious but after the first 5minutes you could tell we would certainly have to up our game and now to the team. We have certainly missed John O'Shea at the back, him and Wes Brown rate them as footballers or not but they are leaders on the pitch and we have certainly missed O'Shea leading the backline. Kyrgiakos looked absolutely dreadful while he was on the pitch and if I was Matt Kilgallon I would certainly feel harshly done to. As for the tactics I personally think the substitutes have been poor and its the first poor thing MoN has done since he has been here, thats how good he is. For me the subs were a huge sign of desperation, there has been no shape at all since they came on and we could be well more down than just the two if it wasn't for the outstanding display Simon Mignolet has put in tonight. And the long balls WTF! Its suicidal to play that way against a team with some big lads like Distan, Heitinga and Fellaini in the team and played right into there hands. All in all its just one of them games and a very poor performance by the lads that said Mignolet, Bridge and Sessegnon and Bendtner to some degree can hold there heads high. Changes need to be made for Man City and if O'Shea is out Kilgallon needs to start, I pray Richardson is back with Bridge being ineligible.
Tonight was not to be unfortunately Regardless of individual performances you can only play as well as your opposition allows - Congratulations to Everton Proud to support Sunderland & always will. Well done to all the supporters that could, who tuned up. Now to City.
Wasnt to be, MON has worked wonders with what we have, we will still be in the PL next season, he will buy, he will have what he wants next season, we will be fine. as for 1 word to sum up tonight **** but we move on.
exactly pal thats what I said above, we needed to make changes and go for it but you need to do it the right way and not reckless like we did, we had no shape at all after that substitution and they could of had a few more if there finishing was better
Can't grumble. Everton were way better organised and Moyes's tactic to play through Osman instead of Fellaini was a good stroke.
When the push comes to shove they never fail to dissapoint. All things considered, would we have taken this earlier in the season? Absolutely.
