Yes, a good article there.:emoticon-0148-yes: Thanks for finding it.

On the nostalgia theme i was reading earlier a posting when someone asked who Tony Currie was and did anyone remember him.

I think that it rather showed up the age of those using that site as no one remembered him at all.<yikes>

Great article and filled a few gaps for me...I missed quite a few games that season, including the play off final. It's a long story, but your Uncle Joe was going through a sticky patch and lived in Spain for a bit...:emoticon-0111-blush :emoticon-0116-evilg

I'll bet GT wishes he hadn't known him after he 'marked' him during that 7-1 win over Grimsby and let him score a hat trick!

As fine a player as he was, I never appreciated his disparaging remarks about Watford, made just after he took what was to become the well-worn trail from Watford to Sheffield United.

'Ungrateful' and 'wretch' were two words that sprang to mind at the time. :emoticon-0172-mooni

I'd forgotten that curry scored a hat trick against Grimsby. I do remember his mysterious non appearance in the cup tie against Sheff Utd days before he left (and big Jim Lawton, who replaced him, and who missed a header that defied the laws of physics)

That brings back a few happy memories.

I couldn't go to Brum but was at Wembley and what a brilliant day it was. My brother-in-law, then a relative newcomer to watching the hornets, was born and brought up in Bolton and still had a very Bolton accent. It was the one and only time we coaxed him into a Watford shirt, though he's been a season ticket holder ever since.:emoticon-0100-smile
