http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-12853156 The interesting point here is "sheriff ruled that Christopher Halaka had not committed a sectarian offence because he had not wanted to cause "ill-will" to a particular group"..... Comments welcome....
He's an idiot. It's similar to an incident a few years back when some "Fans" (St Johnstone I think) racially abused Mo Sylla and they got off with it because he never heard them and no one else had a right to be offended. The Law is an ass.
Interesting quirk in the law - makes you think how do they determine ill will.... Yeh he's a dick and should have known better - Im sure there examples of our lot too. Surely this kind of stuff incites racial or religious hatred... Just topical after our little tet et tet...
If you read some other threads today you would see why i'm a pretty typical Tic fan who has no time for such ****e.
Whats wrong with a "hun" saying Tiocfaidh ár lá? If I say it 5 times does it come true? <candyman><candyman><candyman><candyman><candyman>
Nah...just wish the wind ups were a bit better.... asword seems like a bit of a curtain peeping voyeur
the slap head smiley wasnt for you supermong i was making a sarcastic comment about gerry .......any how im not a curtain peeping voyeur im more your stan collymore dogger
Also, the headline is completely disingenuous. I understand it was the headline of the BBC and not you. "IRA chanting" is not a crime. The crime was a breach of the peace.
Apparently the Queen is set to honour the 'rebels' who gained the south of Ireland it's Independence - she will be honouring the IRA in other words. It's a strange situation in the UK where basically you are seen as a mad sectarian delinquent if you show any sort of Irish Republican sympathies. This is despite their own military history being riddled with stains. Further still despite Britain being involved in 'stained' conflicts such as Iraq more recently than any Irish Republican campaign the majority of British people are still stoutly proud of their armed forces - and not to be proud of the armed forces is seen as the ultimate sacrilege (as Celtic fans seen to their detriment when they attempted to protest against the Poppy being worn on the Celtic jersey) . I grew up in a community which was in an extreme situation and therefore manifested some extreme responses, as did the British and the Northern Irish state forces when faced with unconventional warfare. It seems at the end of this ugly situation there is still only one side which is in the wrong and to be vilified, while the actions of the state forces or even the once ultra-sectarian Northern Irish state are glossed over as being proper and democratic. In short to sing an Irish Republican song makes me no more sectarian than a British person singing Rule Brittania and is certainly no different from a Scotsman singing Flower Of Scotland. We have a mixed history on these islands with various bloody disputes and because you may be a member of the largest most dominant ethnic group does not make your ideology right and everyone else's wrong - nor does it mean I should keep my politics to myself because they were once in dispute with yours.
Typical scouse racist ****. You're lucky that I'm all rep-ped out or you would be getting an earful from me. <SCUM>
