I know I keep banging on about it but the club need to make signing this lad the number 1 priority in the summer. The lad is worth breaking our transfer record far and making the highest paid player on the clubs books, if we were willing to do those two things I think we would have a decent chance of getting him as I doubt he will be on a high wage at Montpellier. Would be the perfect foil for Sess and the perfect player to latch onto Seb's and McClean's crosses. He's big, strong, can leap like a salmon and knows were the goal is and a big advantage we would have is the lad has spoken of his desire to come and play in the premier league. We have made 6m on Gyan and I am sure with Al Ain wanting him and another club from that part of the world reportedly having bid for the lad I am sure we could atleast get another 8m. IMO all that money should be used for this lad as he would gain us a couple of places in the league IMO. I personally think the lad is a MoN type of striker and I would be suprised if we don't look into making a bid for the lad. As you know Poolie, I'm with you on this! He scored the winner again last night, and they top Ligue 1, I can see him staying for CL football. He is sensational.
Pretty sure you've missed the boat on him. Newcastle and Arsenal were linked in January and now he's going even stronger he'll surely only go to a champions league team. That said, sometimes these players slip under the radar. We signed Cabaye and no-one seemed to have heard of him despite the fact that he'd played a major role in winning the French league and was playing for the French national team.
You will have to shell out a lot of money for him, we were apparently quoted an outrageous price. By the looks of him if you could get him he would be an excellent addition. Looks a fifty times better version of Bendtner.
Can't see this happening unfortunately. Their chairman was talking silly money during the last window so that's just going to be more now. Be great of they win the league ahead of Psg. Only thing is of they do he'll probably be playing in Paris next year
Well a good goal can make anyone look good... Even these.. But which is the better goal? please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Crouchie all day long. Still can't believe beanpole scored that. Giroud will be a big ask for Sunderland to get but he is top quality. Stranger things have happened but I think he'll have better options.
Crouches clearly. Coates is a lovely connection with great technique but Crouch had to turn and make room for himself then score from range against one of the best keepers in the world.
I'm not sure how in-demand or how good his reputation is or anything, but in the game I saw last Wednesday, Levante's forward Arouna Koné was absolutely fantastic, every opportunity he was there, he scored a stunning goal. It was only against Real Sociedad, but he might be a good shout.
