Gordon facing massive pay-cut for Sunderland stay Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Mon, 03/26/2012 - 11:18 Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is unsure about offering goalkeeper Craig Gordon a new deal. If he does stay, he would almost certainly have to accept a big pay cut. Asked about the contract situation, OâNeill told the Sunday Sun: âItâs something I havenât considered yet. âThe main thing is that, by the end of the season, he is fully fit. Everybody knows what he was capable of doing before the injuries.â Well if he does take a pay cut, good for us as he already stated he didn't want to go out on loan and preferred to fight for his place, as he wants to stay, cushty
If he wants to take a pay cut, it's great in loads of ways, we save money (for the Messi fund, of course), and it shows that he really wants to stay. Hopefully he will take it, but not the end of the world if he doesn't.
