Extract from a well known 'new' Sunday paper - once known as the NotW!!!

Swansea are in line for a possible shock appearance in Europe next season. Brendan Rodgers' men, who have been the Premier League's surprise package, could end a dream debut season in the top flight by qualifying for the Europa League via UEFA's Fair Play League. The Welsh side are currently top of the disciplinary charts following their good behaviour this term. Tottenham, Manchester United and City sir immediately below Swans - but all three are set to qualify for Europe through their league position anyway. Should Swansea be handed an adventure on the Continent for the first time since 1991-92, they will join the first qualifying round of European football's second competition. That will mean their season will kick-off on Jul 5.

If this came true, couldn't that mean more money coming our way. Okay we may have to win a game to get into the group stage, but bring it on!! Then we will be able to afford players, extend stadium, build the academy. Let's hope it comes off eh?

I hate to put a downer on this but I read this weekend that it is unlikely the premier league will come in the top 3 places in the overall European fair play league and therefore will not get a place in Europe next season via that route. Shame really tbh, just hope this may change in the final part of the season and England do get a place and swans do make Europe...if not this season there is always 6th place next season (or even possibly this season :) )

Players like 'Simulation Suarez' don't help for sure though he seems to fool more referees than not because he never gets booked for it! He should be in La Liga.

it's not so much his simualation, has what he said to evra and what terry has supposedly said to ferdinand, it's things like that, that effect your divisions rating in europe

well last year the 3 that were top at the midway stage ended up as the top 3 so its looking as if no luck this year via this route unless a small miracle happens

I'm good with no European football . Just playing to get back to the Premier League is plenty of ambition . Europe could bring a domestic nightmare IMO

i could'nt agree more, i think next season will be tough enough in prem without the added distraction of european football, our style of play would have us near the top of the fairplay league most seasons i would imagine, so if can establish ourselfs in prem i'm sure the opportunity would present itself again

what rubbish european football is what teams strive for in the premiership, its a target that teams aim for and you can bet brendan and the players would relish the chance to play in europe that 90% of clubs cannot achieve, you aim to play football at the highest possible level just like you aim to win the league and domestic cups, we are in with a chance and thats another achievement by the club and should they achieve that then brendan and the players would be well chuffed. all this i dont want to be in it, im glad we are out of the cups rubbish, we want as a club to be in everything as that is what brendan and the players are working so hard for......
