Its common knowledge we have Belaid on a short term deal with first refusal to extend this deal at the end of the season. With the impending signing of Evans and likely other shrewd moves from Pearson do you think we will sign him long term in the summer?

My opinion would be based on how high his wages are, lets be honest he is just a good squad player. If the wages are right I would sign him.

Not unless he seriously impresses in the next 6 weeks. He's been turd so far.

Depends on what NP's other options are, i'd like to see him get a good run out at some point to show what he can do. From what i've seen so far i wouldn't be rushing to sign him but he has 6 weeks to show his worth. I feel he could be like Geo, good in the warmer months, ****e when it gets cold!

He's not really done a lot tbh, I honestly don't see the point. Hopefully things will work out and we'll have better options in midfield.

Depending on his wage I think we should. I thought he looked good against Norwich, and you can hardly say he's useless or he's done nothing when he's had about five 10-minute appearances..

    Sign him up!

I think he is worth it. In fact, the Norwich game really picked up after he came on. I'd start him against Millwall in place of Harper, just to see what he can do when put next to Evans. He will get a chance, he wouldn't be picked ahead of Devitt if NP didn't rate him. I thought the same of Zlatko Hebib when we trialled him over the summer; look a good, young prospect but we didn't go for it. Same with Emerton, I thought we would have seen more of him this season, given his inclusion in pre season.

We passed on Jerome Thomas too, now first team with WBA.. but it's swings and roundabouts, they released Robbie Koren.. I have a Baggies mate and he couldn't believe it!

He's certainly a very talented player going forward, possibly one of the best in the team, it's just that he won't defend. Like others, I'd wait to see if he can produce anything more substancial in the next 6 weeks. Also, I don't think wages will be too much of a problem, he should accept something around the 6,000p/w mark.

I'd be gobsmacked if he was offered 7k a week even if he played a blinder until the end of the season. The average wage for a Championship footballer is about 5 to 6 grand a week so I'm lead to believe so 7 grand would be a bit generous IMO.
Personally I'd like to see a bit more him but he certainly has the potential to be a decent player for us.

From the information I've received players such as Koren, Fryatt and Dawson are on around 8,000 p/w for us. Since Belaid has come from Sparta Prague where I think his wage may have been generous, we may have to pay him something around the 6,000/7,000p/w mark

I think Koren is on a bit more but when you look at the contribution the three mentioned have made( Koren -6 goals, 7 assists. Fryatt -7 goals.Dawson -Skipper) plus the fact all are starting eleven I just think Belaid isn't in the same bracket.

I'd make him slum it on £ 5000 a week tops.Saying that how can anyone expect to live on that ??

Compare him against Cairney (10k/week) and Harper I know who I'd keep out of the three and he wouldn't be British.

He needs a run of games and I'm confident he'll impress

He has never played for Sparta Prague! (Slavia)

Wages in the Gambrinus Liga are pretty modest. I'd be surprised if he was on that much. I understand that Koren is on a lot more than £8k pw.
