I always thought he was quite happy there. I dont think he wanted to leave here but he felt he had to and Hull was the first team to make an approach. Hull could have been anyone

We didn't approach him, he approached us, we were about to appoint Paul Hart(dodged a bullet), but he has the same agent as Pearson and as Pearson wanted out, his agent said he was available and we made the approach.

Are there really no screens on the away concourse at our place? I've obviously not been in our away end, but we have screens every 15ft in the home stands and I'm really surprised that they're not in the away end too.

I'm not sure that there's any other team in the Championship that has a concourse, that doesn't serve beer to away fans. The fact that you have Singha Beer adverts all over the place makes it even more ironic.

Same at our place. Obviously clubs dont care too much about the away fans. I dont know if they sell alcohol to away fans but maybe they was expecting trouble so they thought they wouldnt sell any.

Pearson just wanted away from Lee Hoos and Milan Mandaric at the time. He seems to think the Hull fans was always against him

Don't think they served alcohol to our fans either. Ironic that the only trouble came from Leicester fans that game.

Also, it's probably wise not to have TV screens in your away stand's concourses. 'Destroy the telly with the beer bottles' seems to be a popular half-time event among certain away fans. <whistle>

You can hit them harder with one foot, but you have to intend to. The reason two footed tackles generally are red cards is that the player is out of control once the start to make the tackle, they've jumped and they're heading straight to the scene with their full weight. When it's one footed, unless you're meaning to hurt them you're generally on the floor (a lot of weight taken out of the equation) and by acting the right way on impact (unless they're foot is planted on the ground) you can generally deflect them to disperse the force and reduce the risk of injury.

(That bold bit is why I said McKenna could have gone just as easily)

Mentioning no names, would it be those seat chucking southern tarts you were playing today? (tarts being used as a less offensive alternative because I don't know how far I can go on the Leicester board)

We are all treated like criminals now whether we go doesn't even matter whether its a local derby the police and stewards just treat everyone the same. At least there consistent, consistent at treating people like dog dirt.

Indeed. Although I fully support Millwall's attempts to introduce a DIY safe-standing area in your stadium. <ok>

You should try coming to our place as an away fan, they're treated better than the home fans.

I tend to get treated quite well at away games these days though (when I've got the cash to go). Not initially, but if I ever have any bother I've generally got a bag with me with my laptop for on the train, and it's amazing how differently they suddenly treat you if you give the impression that you're a reporter. It's almost like they know that what they're doing in a lot of cases is illegal and they don't want the general population to know about it.

Ah, they were installing a safe standing area, that'll explain why when the seats started landing on our fans and they threw them back they were arrested but the Millwall lot were left alone to do whatever they wanted.

Because if you look closely, then his foot is right on the round thing in the middle of the pitch

There was no beer at Blackpool on Wednesday night - In fact there was a mobile trailer selling refreshments! Certainly no televisions! - But when I asked for a beer at Burnley they pulled the ring can off a tin of Carlsberg, poured about two thirds of it into a plastic cup and demanded 3 bleedin quid!

I didn't do Blackpool, they switched it to a Friday night match for Sky and I had to miss it, but there's been beer available at every other ground this season.

There's even three or four Championship grounds that let you take your pint outside and have so you can have a cigarette. Most civilised.

    Two reasons why I didn't -
    1) we were late (missed the first 15 minutes due to an accident on the M62) so didn't get a drink before hand
    2) I had two work colleagues with me and had ordered their beers so didn't want to appear tight

The concourse is the bit under the stand where they sell what they claim is food and beer.
