Bit of a combo of the two imo PGF. Everton were better than us fair play and clearly did a number on us but as I've said even when our players were not under pressure they were giving the ball away for fun. Doesn't win you games.
Well the way I view it, is this, we have only lost one game this month, 3 wins out of 4 is not bad in any Prem teams book, so I'm not that bothered about today though we are good enough to beat the toffees, but that will have to wait until next season, we've not had a lot of luck against Everton over the years, and maybe next season with the experience of this one, Rodgers can sort the likes of Norwich and Everton out. With regards to poor behaviour of some away fans, I would never recommend young children close to that environment Ash, big mistake by the parents. please log in to view this image
We were very poor as games go, we let ourselves down big time. But we will still be in this league next season and that what's counts.
As dragon has previously stated we have taken 9 points out of 12, so i am happy with our month albeit not yesterdays game. we do need to have an alternative when teams chase all over the place but hey how many on here wouldnt of prayed for us to be where we are at this time of the season at the start. i believe that buck will address this in the very near future, so yes we lost but we have another 8 games to go starting with White hart lane on sunday and we have nathan back also
Well the problem is how to change things with a bench full of the same type of players. We will see what happens in the summer but overall i think we are all happy with March, most had us down for 3pts against Everton and nothing against Man city and Fulham so we came out on top this month, next month i expect us to have a similar points tally
norway that would suit me 9 points which could put us nigh on th e50 point mark for the season 2 more wins in may and then a well earned summer off
ok we lost one game...so what, if fans think we are going to win every game we play whether home and away then they are deluded. who would have thought wigan would out play and beat liverpool at anfield and who thought we would beat top of the league an city and third place now arsenal. thats football im afraid that sometimes nothing goes right so you cant blame anyone as you judge them over the season and not one game and as far as i can see we are bloody fantastic......none of us should complain because we lost a game at home, i enjoyed the game myself even though we lost a rare game at home....
Well I tend to agree. It was a piss poor performance against a well drilled side with a canny manager. We fell well below our usually high standards but there's no need to be quite so scathing imo. That's football and we are in the most competitive League in the world. A touch of realism may be called for amongst the fans. Rodgers wouldn't have been happy with our players yesterday and I suspect he's told them as much. He's not the type of manager to rip into them in front of the cameras and I'm glad of that. But I agree he needs to learn a lot about having a plan B. We only seem to be able to play one way and that has to change for when things go wrong. We have achieved so much, but the problem is the more a club achieves the higher the demands of the fans. It's natural.
Everton was one of the hardest games, i didn t quite understand why people were predicting wins of 2-0 etc etc they are a well drilled team that we struggled against last time, this is probably good for all concerned to see us getting an ass kicking will re focus minds ahead of the spurs game etc
Dai, I don't think anyone was complaining about the defeat even though this was a game we might well have expected to get something from, given our recent form and Everton's hectic schedule. It was the MANNER of the defeat that irked. There was no urgency even when we fell behind and, on several occasions when Everton cut through us, the commentators remarked that we made little effort to get back and defend - we gave up on the situation. When we did have the ball it was all gloss and no substance - too many players were just going through the motions for show and not putting in their shift. Anyone who has played at a half decent level could spot that a mile off. Yes, Everton are a good, experienced team, played well and thoroughly deserved the win but we made it easier for them than it could have been. Four out of ten from me for our team display. My report says: will have to do a lot better in the remaining games, stop basking in the hype and get on with the business of showing people that we are not going to be one season wonders.
Agreed, Dai, though comes under the manner of the defeat for me. Brendan is not noted for inspirational substitutions and our bench options are limited anyway. Mac strikes me as a player who has lots of talent but has yet to show his appetite for the dog work - not good for our particular style of play.
everton came to shut us down high up the field, same as norwich did and got the rewards. in games like that you need your messi's in the middle who can dribble past player's and draw in other player's to create the space, i think every time our winger's had the ball yesterday, they was closed down early and most of the time the ball went backwards to the defence who were also closed down quickly.
Going to the game yesterday I said I'd be happy with a point. as Everton are Everton , old campaigners who know how to give anybody a scrap. Wasn't best pleased with the Ref, god no more like him please, he was conned for the free kick leading to the first goal, but that's football. What did do me nut in, was why did Buck take both our wide players off, after that we were reduced to trying to play through them. He brings on fresh legs up front yet we now have no one to cross a ball! We have to sort this out for next season as teams will/have taken notice of how to stifle us.
Must say I agree Dai. We can't start expecting to win every game. It is our first season after all. I want to win every game and that's ambition but expecting to win every game - that's arrogance. And we all know that arrogance never gets anyone anywhere. Well done to Everton and good luck for the rest of the season!
Well now it's official (http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/w...best-weekend/story-15634449-detail/story.html) ... BR: "... We were not at our best ... ". In short it was more down to us being subpar than Everton finding the key to the magic kingdom.
He's acknowledged that Everton got it right whilst at the same time we were not at our best. How can anyone disagree? The expectations of fans never ceases to amaze me. Pissed off if we don't make Europe next?
