    I agree, Barton's been great for us but as I said no players bigger than the club and much as I dislike Ashley it appears he's trying to put us on a sound financial footing. If we go back to offering silly wages for over the hill or unmotivated players we could easily be relegated again and we may not be as lucky to have the likes of Barton, Nolan, Jonas, Jose & Colo even Smithy who fought hard to bring us straight back up. If we didn't come straight back up last season I think we could have easily done a Leeds and could have taken years to recover.

    I agree we dont need to give him a reduction, we could use the wages offset by selling Perch, Xisco and/or Smith to make up 10k easily.

    I dont see why you couldnt just post this on my article though instead of clogging the board with repetitive articles.

    How about he keeps his current contract wage but he repays the club for the previous 3 non existent seasons?
    Anyone know if he lost his wage whilst serving at Her Majestys pleasure?
