Right lads, I need some help. Next summer, me and a group of mates are heading off on a kayaking trip somewhere. Thing is, we can't decide where to go. So far we have narrowed it down to these three: http://www.chriseastabrookcoaching.com/soca-river - Soca River, Slovenia* http://www.ltatravel.co.uk/ladakh/zanskar-river-expedition.html - Zanskar, India http://www.chriseastabrookcoaching.com/the-georgian-journey - Rioni River, Georgia* Seeing as how you are all sensible people, which would you say looks the best? *Chris Eastabrook is a mate of mine, so we know him and like him. He recommended the other one as well.
Think ToonSi‎ was into that kind of thing, probably off on one of his treks now, does a lot of work in third world Countries. AH might keep in touch with him, so he might be able to advise you on how to contact him.
Cheers, we were thinking of trying to do some sort of community work while off, so we could fundraise some of it.
Highly recommend a paddle down the mighty Zambezi - its such a powerful river in awesome scenery. There's plenty of opportunity to get involved with community projects and also with wildlife. From Victoria Falls you've got access to Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Go .......you will never forget it !
If you can afford it, India . More of an experience. I've never been to any of those countries though....
Only time we can go is early summer, so it'll be in low flow, not as good. Same reason we discounted places like NZ and Thailand.
