This is from Caught Offside but of all the rumours and possible transfers (most of which will of course be rubbish) I have an awful feeling that Ba will jump ship for another team. My guess would be Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal if indeed he does.

Chelsea will look to lure Newcastle United striker Demba Ba to Stamford Bridge this summer as the West London club look to freshen up their attacking options. The Senegal international has been in prolific form for the Magpies this term but reportedly
has a release clause said to be in the region of £10m and the Blues are the latest side to take an interest in the 26 year old.

Demba Ba enjoyed a successful spell in front of goal for the seemingly doomed Hammers last term, which drew the interest of Alan Pardew who was looking for a cost effective replacement for Andy Carroll and this led to the powerful forward leaving West Ham on a free transfer and moving to the North-East.

Ba has gone on to net 16 goals in 23 Premier League starts this season but recent comments from Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias relating to the need to balance the books could lead to seemingly inevitable player sales this summer.

Pardew had to cope with the loss of the aforementioned Carroll as well as Jose Enrique, Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton but Newcastle United have nonetheless enjoyed a great season thus far and the January arrival of Papiss Cisse could further the belief that Demba Ba could be sold.

Chelsea could well do with an attacking injection. Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are both set to be out of contract in the summer and Fernando Torres has struggled to make an impact and justify the £50m fee forked out for the Spaniard and having seen Ba score consistently in the Premier League a move for the Newcastle United man, especially if he were to cost no more than £10m, could be a very intelligent one.

Hopefully these muppets are putting two and two together and geting 5.

Natural replacement for Drogba given his all round game. I think Ba will stay though, particularly if we get 6th and look to strengthen. I think players are slowly coming round tothe idea that the grass ain't always greener. We're a good club who pay wages in line with the market. They also get high class facilities and well looked after. Of course there will be moves that are unavoidable.

The fact that we seem to have a much better team spirit in the camp, with all the players getting on well together could be a factor in him deciding to stay with us.

That, plus the fact that we have real fans that get behind the guys will hopefully help.

I would expect Chelsea to aim higher than Ba to be honest.

All paper talk for me. That's not to say no one will leave, there's inevitably player turnover in Summer, but Chelsea aren't going to sign our whole team. Interestingly there's a chance that barring cash Chelsea wouldn't be able to offer anything more than we already have anyway, fingers crossed both teams could be Europa League.

One thing i really like about Ba is his commitment to the cause.
Always tracks back, good in both boxes (defending & attacking).
Really nice to see a non lazy forward.
A quality player, and seems a proper nice lad.
With that all important eye for goal.
Lets hope Cisse can convice to sign a new contract & stay. :D
With them 2 up front for a whole season would be deadly.

Ba is quality player and striker, something Chelsea have lacked.
If you want to sign the likes of Higuaín who could be an exspensive failure in the EPL.
But if you want a hard working, goalscoring, positive player then buy Ba.

Quote in response to the aforementioned rumour from Ba himself:

"I'd have no interest at all. I'm only concentrating on Newcastle and will look at my future in the summer. That future is here at Newcastle, one of the top 6 clubs in the country."

Ok I made it all up, but they started it

To be fair, thats not far off what he actually did say. We need a strong finish and that top 6 finish and we may just convince players like Ba and Tiote to stay

This whole release clause thing is pising me off. If he had one luike Harry said, why did no one buy him in jan? It's a made up lie and shouldn't be listened to.
