The feature was basically about Southampton.

    Well this is interesting.

They are talking about those heros of East Yorkshire like Rickie Lambert.

Now they've moved on to talk about our squad....................Oh, hang on, it's about Saints squad.

Now their talking about our recent results like the win at Millwall................err, hang on!

Well, that was fascinating perspective on our season, thanks TalkShyte.

They are top of the league. If we were top and they did a feature on our game, I'd expect them to be talking about us mostly.

It is frustrating that we get sod all coverage but not in this instance.

Other than the fact that they billed it as a discussion on the Hull City game.

Deano was better giving his preview of the game on Sky Sports Radio this morning(unsurprisingly).

If it's coverage of a game, I expect both sides to be discussed in fairly equal measure.

Actually they billed it as being about "Harl".

I suspected this would happen which is why I started the thread.

That just isn't how football media works. Never has been and never will be.

A good example is the FA Cup semi-final which has been constantly referred to as "a possible merseyside derby" all week. Barely any mention of Sunderland. It's **** but it's how it is. the only way a little club like ours can get equal coverage is by beating the bastards.

But that's a discussion of a future game that may or may not be, it's not the preview of a game that's happening that night.

It's how they work though. If they had any intention of doing a proper preview, they wouldn't have Francis Benali on. They have their favourites and their big mates. This morning Alan Brazil said he really hopes West Ham win promotion for his big mate Big Sam. No mention of Reading, no credit to Brian McDermott, no objectivity.
