I think that Moro is an ok striker, but he simply didn't make the runs yesterday, there were numerous times, when he could have been sprinting his bollocks to get into the six yard box and didn't. It's not like torres who does get into the right positions but whose confidence in hitting a ball first time just went. He could have had the service if he'd got into the fecking positions to get service.
THANK YOU BEEF, finally someone who doesn't turn their back on one of our top goalscorers after a poor game when he has no service. He wasn't great yesterday, but if we persevere with him we might see a return of the Morrison who so bulled Swansea and who brushed aside Per Mertewhateverhisnameis.
Well, if I had picked the squad last match I my line-up wouldn't have differed much from Lambert's except I'd have had Hoolahan/Johnson in and Howson/Surman on the bench, and I would have thought that 4-4-1-1 would give our best chance, but against Wolves it's a different scenario. I'd agree two up front in definatley better than 4-4-1-1, Manchester smelt blood and went with a 4-3-3 away from home and it really worked for them. Looking at how poor the Wolves defending was that game, it would make sense to exploit it maybe with a similar set-up. No doubt Holt will start next game, as for who partners him, it will probably be Jackson, although I'd like to persist with Morrison, but knowing Lambert you can't rule out him giving Vaughan a chance! For certain is that Fox will play in midfield, and it is likely Bennett and Pilkington will play too as we WILL look to attack Wolves.
Ruddy Naughton Ward Whitbread Drury Bennett Fox Howson Pilkington Holt Morison Lets get width, lets get pace and lets get service into the box and into the middle for Fox and howson to distribute If it doesn't work you get hoolahan on and play the diamond with Jackson on as well for fresh thinking, we shouldn't try to play two systems. Flat or diamond, not a combo of the two.
Morison will be fine, I think he just needs to get a year under his belt, bit different playing at St James Park to Millwall. I think this will be a big plus for us next year as all our guys will have come through this year seen the big stadiums etc and next year these will not effect the play ( hardly has this year tbh but I cant believe that it does not effect people differently) Crikey if Morison had a problem where does that leave Torres?????? I would not swap !!!!!!
I agree, our best run of results were from December 10th to January 28th. We won five, drew four and only lost one and in all of those games we played Holt with Morison. Despite what people say these two DO work well together. Holt runs around like a mad thing and pulls defenders with him which leaves Morison with more space. Get crosses into these two and the shambles that is the Wolves defence won't know what to do.
I know we all have our favourites and today Morison scored. However I feel this will overshadow a tremendous performance by Jackson. To meet it was a bit like opening a pickle jar. You do the hard work and somebody else gets the credit for the final turn. I'm absolutely delighted Morison scored but for me it was the Holt and Jackson show. I thought today was one of Holts best performances and his awareness of the opposition and his team mates showed real class.
1st goal in 15 games??? Well taken, but if you were listening to Mark Robbins commentry you would have heard, "I haven't seen Morison get into even JOG mode yet"! Anyway no sour grapes from me, he took the goal well, but I have to agree with Redruth, Holty and Jackson were awesome. More griping from Wenger, "we have to expect to beat teams like Norwich" shove it up your arse Arsene!!! ILD OTBC
