Now i don't make a habit of coming to your board but wondered if you had heard about this as i can't see a thread on it?

A memorial stone in a garden dedicated to former Newcastle and England manager Sir Bobby Robson has been defaced.

The garden was opened on Gallowgate, in Newcastle, close to St James' Park, in May last year.

Liz Luff, from the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, said on Twitter that the council would be washing the "obscenity" off the stone on Monday.

The garden includes a series of stones featuring images to celebrate Sir Bobby's career.

Of the graffiti, Ms Luff tweeted: "I can't believe someone would do that."

The foundation was set up in 2008 and works with scientists at Newcastle University to help develop cancer treatments.

Sir Bobby died in July 2009 aged 76 after a long battle with cancer.

Hadn't heard about it but they've got to be real ignorant sicko's to do something like that. The guy was trying to do good for other people right up to the end of his life.

    R.I.P Sir Bobby.

You're more than welcome here Commachio. If you have a look on the chronicle website, they say it's the work of Norwich supporters, probably done because of the Bobby Robson/Ipswich link. The sick twats.

Absolute disgrace, who ever has done this is NOT a supporter of football.

I know SBR had a huge link to NUFC but had links with football all over the world and had the respect from all he met.

If they catch who ever did it, they deserve to be beaten with in an inch of their lives.

I was sickened to see people taking the piss about Muamba on Twitter on Saturday and people mocking Robbie Savage about his dad being sick.

    Where will it stop?

Harsher punishments need come back, people have no respect for anyone or anything no matter how sensitive or sacred it is.

    RANT Over

    Norwich fan in peace!

If it's proved to be "Norwich supporters" believe me, they will have no friends in our camp! Sir Bobby was an absolute legend, he is the only subject that we and "The Binners" (IPSWICH) have no argument about!

I have to agree with Syd, they're not football fans, they're tossers and sad sickos, may they rot in Hell!

Sad end to a sad weekend for true football fans, let's hope the culprits are caught and punished accordingly.........preferably tied to a lamp post in northumberland street.

    RIP Sir Bobby

As fans of Newcastle and Sunderland on here will tell you, every team has clowns like these, we've had fans prove it on Derby Day many a time.

It's about time you boys admitted it <ok>

On a serious note though, I can't believe this has happened to one of the most loved men in world football, he is an absolute legend and gentleman. Such a shame

Was down at Portman Road the day Lady Elsie officially opened the new Sir Bobby Robson Stand.

All the fans were as one.

Probably a young pissed up Norwich knuckle dragger who did it out of spite. What this moron fails to remember is that Sir Bobby meant so much to so many people in this country. Every club has its share of morons and I suspect the only reason this clueless ****er did this was because of Sir Bobby's Ipswich connections. Every Norwich supporter on this board has quite rightly shown their total disgust for this brainless idiot that has caused them so much embarassment.

    Norwich fan in peace.

Thought it was just worth posting what the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation tweeted yesterday: "There is no suggestion that graffiti found yesterday in Sir Bobby’s memorial garden in Newcastle resulted from Norwich City fans"

Have to say I would be astonished if it was one of ours. Whilst every club does indeed have its morons, this just doesn't fit with the esteem Sir Bobby is held in. As intense as our rivalry with Ipswich can be, in my experience, it just doesn't work like that.
Like most of you, I've experienced many minutes silences/applause over the years, but the one at Carrow Road after Sir Bobby died sticks in my head. Total respect and genuine emotion.

Anyway, whoever did it, and for whatever twisted reason, let's hope they're caught.
