It would be sad if this was to end his career (assuming he makes some form of recovery), he has some real potential and is destined for bigger stages if he pulls through.

Hope it all goes to plan Fabrice!

Nice to see Sky prove beyond any doubt that they are a disgraceful, shambles of an operation. Saying he is stable when no official word was coming out of anywhere. Had to rely on the BBC for genuine news. Shocking.

I wouldn't mind but they have the nerve to charge people £500 a year and throw endless money at Sports coverage, but yet are still an absolute shambles of an embarrassment.

I hate them so much. Feel like I am in the minority who can see through there bollocks presentation they provide.

What kind of a 24 hours a day, dedicated sports channel cant get sports news correct?! Well? You want me to pay for this sh*t?

Rant over. Get better soon Muamba lad.

Fabrice Muamba remains in critical condition in intensive care.

Bolton's Fabrice Muamba is critically ill and will remain in intensive care until at least Monday morning.

The midfielder, 23, is at the London Chest Hospital's heart attack centre after suffering a cardiac arrest during Saturday's FA Cup tie at Tottenham.

At 2030 GMT on Sunday the hospital said Muamba remained in intensive care and is being kept sedated.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside said: "I ask for everybody to keep Fabrice in their prayers and thoughts."

In a statement on the club's website, Gartside added: "The staff at the London Chest Hospital have been nothing short of exceptional and I would like to thank them all at this ongoing critical time.

"The support that we had yesterday from Tottenham and our own fans was fantastic - the staff, the fans, the players and the officials at the game - it was unbelievable."

Hope Muamba makes a full recovery from this horrible tragedy. Same age as the lad, scary to think it can happen to anyone. Puts football and everything else in the world into perspective. Get well soon Fabrice x

That's a good sign. His brain is functioning well, so his heart not beating for an hour or so didn't have drastic effect on his brain function and hopefully not bodily function.

Hopefully we might see him again next yet

(Reuters) - The family of Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba have warned that he is facing a long period of recovery after suffering a cardiac arrest during last weekend's FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

"Even though Fabrice has made great progress over the last couple of days, he is still in intensive care, and still has a long period of recovery ahead," Muamba's fiancee Shauna Magunda and his father Marcel said in a statement on Friday.

"Thank you to everyone for the love, prayers and support over the past few days.
