    Taken from NUFC blog....

The fact that Papiss Cisse has tried the fish and chips in*Newcastle, and likes them, has to be a very good sign to*Newcastle*fans.

Papiss was left out of the side that played at Arsenal*on Monday night, when Alan Pardew played five*across the midfield and one striker up front, Demba Ba, but the tactics worked well, and*Newcastle*were so unlucky not to come away from that game with a point.

Cisse is still settling in at*Newcastle, and we put out an earlier article* today where Alan*Pardew*admitted he is*finding*it difficult at the moment to effectively communicate with the Senegal striker, as he has just started to learn English – Papiss that is.

As we know, Alan has his own difficulties with speaking the English language – like the way he talks about some Newcarstle team.

But in an interview Papiss Cisse has given today, he comes across as happy on Tyneside, and he*is*busy looking for a house:

“I’ve got two goals and I feel with more games I will get better,” “I already feel like I understand the English game, the style of play here.” “The manager explained to me the day before the Arsenal match that he wanted to play with just one striker.”

“I respected his choice but we lost the match in the last minute which was disappointing.”*”Demba Ba has made it a lot easier for me, but so have Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye, Mehdi Abeid, Sylvain Marveaux and Gabriel Obertan. They have all helped me.”

“I’m trying to find accommodation at the moment but I like the city. It’s a lovely place. I go to restaurants with these guys and friends.”

“I have tried the fish and chips, the fish and chips were good. I have also been to a restaurant where they do special things with chicken and spices: Nando’s.”

We fully expect Cisse to be back in the Newcastle starting eleven against Norwich City tomorrow, when*Newcastle*will be going all out to get their*first*win in five games, and he will again*be up*front*with*his Senegal strike partner Demba Ba, in a 4-4-2 formation.

And the lad seems to have no*problems*wearing that very*famous*number 9 shirt, worn in the*past*by*Newcastle’s*two best ever strikers – Jackie Milburn and Alan Shearer – who have 406*goals*for Newcastle between them.

    Papiss talked about the shirt:

“I call it the famous No 9. Great men have worn this shirt so I know exactly what it means,” *”I feel good with this shirt, of course. I think the fact they have given this shirt brings positive pressure.”

“It’s been hard to swap countries half way through a season, but interesting. It means you have time to get to know your new team-mates for next season, it gives you a bit of a head start for the new season.”

“That has to be a good thing.” *“I’m hoping that I will play better when I am more settled. That’s what I hope, what I wish for next season but I do already feel happy here. It’s a great city and club to be at.”

Cisse*already speaks four languages and in the final 10 games of the*season, he’ll try to get as many goals for the side as possible.

But when the pre-season*starts in early July, the lad should be ready to get the job done fully for*Newcastle*next*season, and by that time hopefully we will have*qualified*for the Europa League.

    Here’s hoping.

    Comments*welcome.

One in the Gate and one in Eldon Square, both quite close to the ground.
