Yep good news. I was only refreshing the bbc sport live update though, so didn't catch the good news. Curious as to why they didn't update it with the info yet... no direct source i guess.
Good news. Obviously sounds like he is still very ill but "stable" is alot better than "not breathing" or "having to have cpr done on him" (as was prviously reported in the media). Hopefully he can make a full recovery
His condition is currently critically ill, but that is normal after a heart attack, what's good is that he survived his heart and his breathing stopping and is still alive. He now has a very good chance of recovery. If he does, it will be an absolute credit to the medical teams. He could have died on the pitch.
Agreed. No matter what the outcome, the handling of this situation seems to have been first class, from medical attention to calling the game off.
Well done to all persons involved in making sure he survived. Kudos to the spurs fans too, they showed real class at a very frightening moment. lets hope he's fit and able to play again soon.
Was listening to it all on five live and everyone had nothing but praise for the medical staff and the fans
Who wouldn't praise them? They did an amazing job, the fact he's still alive is testament to their ability.
I just spoke to someone who knows the doctor treating Muamba - apparently he is talking now - BBC confirms this too. Excellent news. I don't know how much is public regarding how well he is expected to recover but there is a high level of optimism
We should not expect him to play again - but if he can live a normal non-exertive life that will be wonderful.
It seems likely he may not play again which is tragic news. However some things are more important than football and I'm grateful he is alive and responding well to treatment.
Exactly !! Football gets bad press far too often but seeing the Real Madrid players wearing t shirts supporting Abidal surprised me no end !!! Great gesture.
