Thanks George - I watched and I DID enjoy I'd backed him with Stan at 18's and Laddies at 16's but Laddies went BOG so happy days
Afters all OMG what a festival, awesome as ever with ups and downs. What a genius ride from AP to win the Gold Cup, was riding frantically on the first circuit just to keep the horse in contention with the back of the field, excellent jockey and chuffed for all connections. Nass: Glad you enjoyed the experience mate, it is like nothing else as is the Derby I think we have realised last seasons Gold Cup and Champion Hurdles were not very good at all! For What a Friend to finish so close proved that and the CH speaks for itself!! On a positive front the new kids on the block look awesome, Sir des Champs, Simonsig, Bobs Worth and Boston Bob will make next years festival a spectacular event, let's hope they all arrive safe, sound and fit . Punting wise, 14s Simonsig, 12s and 10s Sir des Champs were excellent winners, Overturn EW 33s and First Lt EW at all rates also made for excellent returns. Savers on Cape Tribulation and Syncronised made for good days. Ones that got away: Still feel bad for connections of Sizing Europe (who it must be said took the whole event very well indeed), whether he would have won who knows? But jumping is his forte!! First Lieutenant would have been a great result, shame he had to make his own pace but beaten fair and square. One that many will have missed was Pearl Swan in the Triumpg, held up out the back or outpaced, coming to get involved nicely and deffo at leat 2nd place when he slipped after the last, amazing effort by horse and jockey to try and stay up, without doubt one for next season especially when upped in trip!! Rides worthy of a mention, well numerous, McCoy winning Gold Cup, Dicky on Balthazar, Fehily and Maguire stealing the CH, Paul Carberry in the last, Campbell Gillies on the scottish horse was excellent too. Punt of the week must have been Son of Flicka, top rated but 66s! Great to see and how easily! Easiest winner? Sir des Champs or Simonsig for me and both look great prospects. Everyone must have won, just a matter of how much I'd say, well done to Stick who gave some excellent shouts, but you have got to get the week off next year LOL Good luck all who play 3 bets for me as I am totally knackered from the studying and cheering! All at Uttoxeter, 215 King Zeal EW at 33s, Phillipedes EW at 16s in 245 and Posh Bird/Leaveys horse in 320
If you missed it on last nights thread fellas I have had a good word that connections fancy MARINGO BAY in the Midlands GN
what a god-awful ride Brennan gave the favouite. If there was anywhere to go to get boxed in he chose to go there!
Hmmmm - 2 Pricewise horses, Posh Bird the talking horse of the day and now Maringo Bay .... I can already see where my selection Mr Moss is going!
No-one fancies a crack at the tricast then? It's me vs cyc at the minute would be good to get a couple more in!
