It's strange, isn't it? Not long ago we took about 8,000 to Bolton on Valentines Day for a 5th round replay(I think), had a tonne of home replays, which we sold out every one and had some of the best atmospheres I've seen at the Lane. There was a real buzz about the FA Cup that season... then we lost to Portsmouth. I'm a hypocrite though, as I haven't been to any cup games this season. In my defence my last two FA Cup games were Portsmouth and Fulham away so it may be sensible for me to stay away 'til I get rid of this hoodoo.

    Fair comments NSS (and others).

But obviously most Spurs fans aren't Irish or have Irish wives. So what's the rest of them doing on St Paddy's day for an FA CUP Q/F?

Everyone makes their own choices, and I miss far more games than I go to, so it's not a case about me or any individual.

What is the case is that Arsenal can get 60,000 for a 4th round FA Cup v Villa, while we're struggling to get 36,000 for an FA Cup Q/F v Bolton. I was well aware that Arsenal had a much bigger fanbase than us before this game, but the gap may be bigger than I thought. Arsenal moved to the Emirates because they were comfortable that they would fill/near fill a 60,000 seater for the great majority of games. Can we be so confident of our ability to do likewise if we build a 60k stadium?

Seem to remember that when we played Bolton at home in that 4-0 replay win in 2010 it was a full house. Although it was a 7.45 kick off and reduced ticket prices I think.
So only reason I can guess is no one wants to fork out £31 plus when they can sit and watch it at home unfortunately :(

Fair comments ZigZag. The semi-final will be televised too, should we win today. I suspect more people will be interested though the prices will be higher.

It's a sad reflection on the gap between us and Arsenal in terms of fanbase.

Or can Arsenal be confident of maintaining their crowds when the wealthy fickle switch to the newest brightest gig in N. London?

Our current form and strange team selections probably haven't helped either, to be honest.

Looking at the map on the OS, there's a hell of a lot of individual, isolated seats not taken, from what's left.
Probably doesn't help anyone wanting to go as a group, especially if kids are involved.

PNP A lot probably think that Harry is going to put out another disjointed line up, so they thought bugger this I'll watch at home.

Well we can spin it anyway we want, not selling 36k for a FA cup 6th round, in a ground which once held 75k+ for such a tie, it's an embarrassment.

Am watching the Everton game, Sunderland have taken about 6k fans I believe for this one, and my guess is there's 36k+ for this game.

Neither team are doing as well as us in the lge, and we're supposed to be a bigger club than either.

To be fair it does help when Sunderland brought 6000 to Everton today, rather than the 1000 or so Bolton will bring this evening. Still not an excuse for us not be selling out beforehand mind you :/

Fair comments Zigzag, but you have to wonder whether we would have 6k up to Everton for a 12.45 ko. Yes Sunderland is nearer, but I'm not sure by how much.

Fans do what they want, I never go to away games these days, so certainly wouldn't 'cast the first stone'. But 32k for an FA cup Q/F, if that's what it us about, tsk tsk, with regard to our 'big club' status.

The attendance on both previous rounds against lower league opposition was 35,700. The ticket office will be open during the day, I'd wait till the game starts, as some people will just get a one when they turn up at the ground.

Bolton have apparently brought down 650 fans. Absolutely shocking for an FA Cup Quarter Final. We could take 10x that if this goes to a replay, if we were to get given that many tickets.
