Joke of a festival that's me done with NH racing 100 percent serious. The giant bolster finishing 2nd in a gold cup is a joke shop

Er..you do remember Nortons Coin right? And a fair number of 20/1 or thereabouts horses won the Gold Cup in the 90s. Why do people get so outraged when a long shot makes the top three?

Shame to see Kauto pulled up, let's hope he enjoys a happy retirement. Well done to Synchronised but WTF@The Giant Bolster finshing 2nd@50/1! Devalues the form big time, he's not much better than a good handicap chaser - reminds me of when Norton's Coin won the Gold Cup in the 90's!

Dare I say Long Run has gone backwards this season - he can't even beat The Giant Bolster!

Because him finishing in front of long run is a joke. He is average at best. Done with it.

Get in there! That horse stays forever. Long Run not the same horse as last year. Fantastic run by The Giant Bolster and well done to Walsh for pulling up Kauto Star before we had to watch him tail off.

The giant bolster won last time out at Cheltenham so hardly a surprise

Congratulations to synchronised but something has not been right with long run all season. His jumping was poor and that cost him today

You must exist in a bizarre parallel world where surprises never happen in sport.

Could be a good time to start dude. Chill out a little. I see the angle you're coming from but unexpected results always crop up when you least expect them. :bandit:

Heron's well must be overpriced here. Over 100-1 on betfair. Was going okay last year, tho a long way out. Dont think much of these ex-rules favourites, chapo and cloudy, gutted monerty tunkerty aint here, would have been great to see him blazing out in front.

I was very disappointed to hear from Clive Smith that they intend to run Kauto again.

What on earth is left for them to win? There is nothing. They cant hang about for a King George and Gold Cup again. Just be utterly delighted with what your horse has done FFS. You can say it wasnt the perfect way to bow out but in NH racing, there is no perfect way. Perfect to me is when they go into retirement in rude health and safe and sound. You have to let go some time Clive.
