............is imploding. As a neutral observer of world soccer leagues (I live in the USA), I feel I have an unbiased view of the game worldwide. EPL used to be in the top 5 world leagues (along with Serie A, El Ligo, Bumdersleger and MLS). but this season it has slipped out of the top 10 with Mexico, France Ligue Urn, Argentina, Brazil and many others now clearly superior. EPL this season has witness; Plummetting attendance Plummetting TV viewing Awful degree of cheating (diving etc) Racist abuse both on and off the field of play Poor quality of play (Man Cs were dumped out of ECL by a mid-table southern italian side and Manchester Us by a herb) Poor hygiene I could go on but dont want to offend no-one. Now today I notice that the next England national team (Men) head coach, Harry Rednap) is in trubble with the Man. All the above point to a bad season for EPL. Do yous think it can rebound? and does yous think England will win Euro 2012 as that might help?
PMSL @ The MLS is one of the top leagues in the world! Are you actually being serious?? ROFL! I have a tip for you... If you want anyone to take you seriously than stop calling it the EPL and ECL for a start.
It's hard to argue with these - well, until you undermine your argument by placing MLS ahead of the Premier League. Scottish Premier League maybe...
lol quality thread! Out of top 10. Comedy! It has dropped. True. Second behind Spain now with Italy very close.
Well the EPL certainly imploded all over Napoli this week. Regarding the MLS.Whilst it has some way to go it is clearly growing in quality and size. Seattle averaged over 38k the last 2 season. The new teams like Portland,Toronto,Philadelphia and Vancouver are selling out too. I believe the average attendance is now close to France and Italy and passed the Championship a few years back and it is the 7th top so the OP was right to include it in the top 10.
Attendances does not mean a good league, especially looking at the size of both the USA and their stadiums. Anyway, poor WUM 4/10
Are you channelling The Inbetweeners here? Oh and Poor Hygiene? You have to go into that a little more....
Attendances and full stadia enhance every league. Would empty grounds make the Prem as watchable? Serie A? It's all part of it.
Pretty mush anywhere outside England it's known as the EPL. This may come as a surprise to you but the vast majority of Prem fans call it that as more live outside England than in it.
