Is this the same Man City side who are as good as Real Madrid and Barcelona?

The same Man City side who are one the greatest teams in English football history?

Football pundits don't half talk crap!

2-0 down. Surely no way back for City.

Booed off at half time. I wish our fans were as great as theirs.

Come on! Is anyone surprised by both United and City's score lines? I couldn't see City wanting to play thursday AND Sunday when United will play on Saturdays. Not for a mickey mouse cup that even the likes of spurs and Stoke spat at in the past.

United go out - "We didn't care about this competition and wanted to go out anyway"

City go out - "Haha City you're shit!"

Nah...only 1/4 English comebacks in the last 16 will be successful.

Disgraceful timewasting by Sporting - I hope City get the goal.

Apparently City did well in the 2nd half and nearly went through to the next round but went out due to the away goal rule.

    UNited fans so fickle.

They always lose to Spanish sides anyway so they had no chance and were always going to hit for six.

SAF never gets it right in Spain; he has a mental block

I'd like to disagree with this post as it generalizes too much, but ManU was made to look average because they simple couldn't deal with their high pressing game.

All English teams seem to be having problems with teams who defend/pressure really high up, like a lot of the Spanish sides do.

Arsenal-vs-Barcelona might not be the best comparison because in that case Barcelona was just simply a much superior team, but if there was a single element of their game which completely disabled us it was that high pressing game.

English teams just need a lot more space to be effective with I guess.

Hi Alan. That's correct. They even nearly won it with the last kick of the game, but try telling the knobhead Christiansmith that <doh>

On about three different threads, he said (pre half time) that citeh were trying to get knocked out and are throwing it away on purpose. I guess that's why they came back in the second half and nearly won it <doh>

Seems other fans are annoyed that us Man Utd fans are not that annoyed that we went out of the mickey mouse cup.

Not annoyed mate. As a football supporter, you should always want to see your team win. City clearly tried their damnedest to come back and win it and you did too.

Who are you calling knobhead you f*****g c**t?

F**k off back to your stupid board instead of posting wumming annoying posts here. I think that SAF couldn't be bothered about the silly Europa. Evra was told off too. So we had to pretend to fight for it. Come on. Can anyone honestly believe that we gave 100% for a competition which the likes of villa, stoke, spurs have demeaned in the past?

Does anyone seriously think that Fergie or any United fan would be happy to be in the final of the Europa but runners up to City in the league? As shwan said people want us to be upset, but we aren't. It is just a sh*t competition we got dumped into because we failed in the top one.

We beat Barcelona in the Champions league in 2008 so no, we do not "always" lose to Spanish sides.
