And I'm back in from my morning walk, yes I'm back home after a mercy dash. Osca took ill on Monday afternoon, was no better Tuesday so Wednesday saw me pack up, dash home, Vets by 3 and a very bad bout of kennel cough found. After a good nights sleep and his first round of medication he is a lot better, 4 more days medicine and he will be fine, think he just wanted to be back in his own bed. 2 days away from our big cup weekend and our boys on TV again and some big decisions for MON, goal keeper and back 4 pick themselves but what formation and who? I have a feeling Campbell will drop to the bench with Vaughan coming in and a 4-5-1, that would do me. I know Bendy has his doubters and no he is not the prolific scorer we all would like, mind he is on a run, but he is the best we have at holding up the ball. We did not miss Sess against Liverpool but I think we could on Saturday, still he is out so not a lot we can do about that. I see the team being.. MIG BARDO..TURNER..O'SHEA..BRIDGE LARSSON..GARDNER..COLBACK..VAUGHAN..MCLEAN BENDY
You get up too early Syd...ever heard of a lie in??? I also hope Osca gets better, hate it when pets fall ill! Anyway...to the business. I agree with your team selection, I do think Campbell could be dropped. HOWEVER saying that I am sure MON said he would like to see how Campbell and Bendnter develop as a partnership. I would be happy with a draw..then a replay at the SOL.
Think he will go for it and play Bendtner and Campbell....so either Colback or more likely Vaughan will be a sub.
MoN was quoted as saying Colback needed to take it easy after the knocks he's received lately & at the same time reiterated that McLean’s work load needed to be monitored so as to not burn out due to his commitment on the pitch. So who's knows Marty's user name?
I bet we start with that team with an option to go 4-4-2 ...Campbell on in place of Vaughan if he's flagging a bit with match fitness. I've never been a huge fan of Colback - he's a good lad for a ginga, it's just that I'm not sure he's the real deal if we wish to progress - HOWEVER, I'm warming to him, especially after Saturday, he and Gardner were freakin awesome against the Pool.
Colback won me over big time last season, I honestly think he will be Paul Scholes mark two, he can be that good.
Mornin Syd me thinks Oscar heard the worrying rumours about the sheep in Wales and the "illness" is as a direct result. Hope he gets better soon.
The good thing is, is that if Colback did need a rest, then we have Vaughan or Meyler who can step in, and neither of them two have let us down when given the chance...
Syd Pets huh, bit like wives and kids always get in the way of a man doing what a man has to do. I think you have the team spot on, we will be cautious and play Bendtner up front if he is fit. Everton I reckon will be a different team to the '2nd team' that capitulated to a Stevie G hat trick. The Everton fans are very anti Moyes for that defeat and his team selection so I expect a backlash. I could hope for a win but I would take a draw and get them back to the SoL.
Would we have Sess back for a replay? Anyway, because we play a counter-attacking style at the moment I do believe it will look like we're playing for a draw but with the expectations of at least a few blistering counter-attacks to put the wind up them. There could be a backlash by Everton after the drubbing by Liverpool or could just put extra pressure and add to their nerves. Without Sess I must admit to a high level of anxiety about the outcome so a draw would be a good result for me .. especially if he will be back for a replay. I also think that they may underestimate us... especially if we do look like we're setting the stall out for a draw.
Catts got 4 games didn't he? so even he would be back for the replay but I fancy us against anyone at the SoL like!
If Bendtner is fit I'd start 4-4-2 with Campbell on for Colback. It's a tough call to make between Colback and Vaughan as Colback is beginning to show signs of substantial improvement. I think we can win at Everton and feel confident enough to play 4-4-2 but we also play an excellent counter-attacking style with 4-5-1 under MON and I'm happy either way to be honest. Good times.
It's Thursday March 15th... The day after male valentine day................aka steak and blow job day........ Who went to bed hungry? Who had either? Or who is looking for double helpings next year/
