Stringer has put on twitter this morning who do you think is better in the loan market Sven or Pearson. Both used the loan market very well, but Sven has more money and the bigger contacts book so he can attact the bigger names while Nigel went for the younger up and coming players.

    Svens loans

Yakubu, Kyle Naughton, Greg Cunningham, Curtis Davies, Chris Kirkland, Ben Mee, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick Van Aanholt, Roman Bednar, Diomansy Kamara

    Pearsons loans

Kerrea Gilbert, Mark Davies, Jack Hobbs, Martyn Waghorn, Ryan McGivern, Mark Bunn, David Stockdale, Tony Warner, David Martin, Astrit Ajdarevic, Alex Bruce, James Vaughan, Jay Spearing, Wayne Brown, Tom Cleverley

On Paper Sven has the better players with people like Kirkland, Davies, Yakubu but i think Nigel had the better success. Out of the loans Cleverley and Stockdale are around the England team. And we managed to sign Waghorn ,Hobbs, Brown while out of Sven's we dont have much chance off signing many of them. None of Pearson came here with the big player ego on the big wage unlike people like Bednar, Davies, Yakubu.

Who do you think used the loan market the best

    Definitely Pearson for me.

Mark Davies (though only here a short time), Hobbs, Waghorn, Bunn (who saved a vital penalty) Stockdale, Spearing, Brown and Cleverley were all great successes IMO, and to a lesser extent Bruce, Vaughan and Martin all played a good part. Warner was here a very short time and didn't impress. I never rated Gilbert but he wasn't a failure. The only failures turned out to be McGivern and Ajdarevic.

As you say, Sven's came with a higher pedigree and perhaps appeared to be great signings at firts - Yakubu, Davies and Cunningham all looked very promising at the start. But it became clear after a while that Yakubu was a flash in the pan and is now a waste of space, Davies was too inconsistent and soon turned into a donkey, and Cunningham, despite being a great assett going forward, was not a great defender. On the other hand, I suppose that's why he got them on loan and not permanently. I wouldn't like any of those 3 to be starters for us next season.

Kirkland, Van Aanholt and Bednar have been failures.

Bruma - I'm still on the fence.

Naughton and Mee have been great successes. I think both should be signed in the summer.

Overall I'd say the majority of Pearson's loans were useful in the short term or successful. Only a 3rd of Sven's would fit into that category for me.

Of course Sven's decisions in this area will come under more scrutiny because he's had more money to spend than Pearson, and also, because Pearson had 2 very successful seasons at a time when expectations were low.

think the credit for loanees success last season should go to steve walsh (not the city legend the other one) not nigel pearson. pity he also left. very dissapointed but the football has been far better to watch this season even if the next few games are meaningless.

that you are sagegee... anyway I came here to suggest a swap in Stadia, with all your money you can afford another one so I would like to see the mighty tigers in the Walkers, you can have Welford Road for now, I'm sure it will suit your attendances. There's only one sport in Leicestershire and that's chasing the fruit of a chicken.
