When I occasionaly go back to the old 606 board and look at the Newcastle board I have not seen negativity like it. Some of our fans have conceded that we will go down because of Pardew.

Now I know tactically he is not the best but yesterday all he tried to was include some physical presence in our side. With people moaning and saying we are already down is really starting to annoy me. This is why im annoyed:
    - We have been promoted and are not pushing for europe
    - 17th place is what we wanted at the start of the season and every fan wanted this
    - A high finish in the table would be good for profit and attracting players but survival is important if we want to build.
    - Ben Arfa, Gosling and hopefully 4 or 5 top signings will be in the side next season to push us up the table (I dont think we will go down)

So for all the fans out there reading this, if you think we are going down then don't. BECAUSE WE WONT.

I hope they dont all come here when 606 closes down, I was on the other day and they're all idiots. The only issue I have with Pardew about the Stoke game is he said he wouldnt play them at their own game, then played a 5-3-2 when we had the players for our usual 4-4-2. But I didnt expect a result anyway to be honest.

We are doomed never win a sat fixture at 3pm oh hang on we never seem to win a home fixture. Doom and gloom is what we are used to at toon and with Laurel and Hardy in charge and Partridge the serial relegation hunter we certainly will have a bumpy end to the season. Can he handle the pressure laughed when he said in papers to-day he hopes he enjoys next 100 days as much as the first I just get that feeling he won't somehow!!:emoticon-0112-wonde

I would never blame Pardew for the downturn in form. He's doing his best with the resources at his disposal, which are pretty meagre for a PL team with any kind of ambition.

I do think we'll be in the relegation mix, though, come the end of the season. It's all right talking about the winnable games we have, but those are precisely the games we're not winning.

Yes 6 points will prob be needed too be honest even with our meagre squad if we cannot cobble 6 points together we probably deserve to go down. The problem is confidence and we at the minute have very little whereas Wolves come here in great form it would a few weeks ago looked like a winnable game now prob more important that we don't lose it. The inquests will have to wait but as usual with NUFC nothing is ever easy!!

To be fair even Sunderland are looking over their shoulders after today, think we'll be fine but there are at least 8 teams who are win a worse position than us.

I don't think it's anything to do with which forum people are posting on - we are in a nose dive currently and Pardew looks powerless to stop it.
We have too few quality players to cover for when key players are missing. Routledge would have been a decent squad player to have around as cover for the recovering Joey Barton.

Now I'm not slating him but if we look back to when Hughton was in charge we lost/drew the games we should be winning or should be atleast performing but we cant blame individuals for the team not turning up its just not our time although I think we'll be safe

Yeah but we should be getting more than 1 point out of Bolton Home, Everton Home and Stoke Away, we aren't getting wins like Arsenal Away anymore

3-0, Wolves have the worst away record in the league.

form has indeed been dodgy, but we do have some very winnable games left. now I'm not saying for a minute that pardew got it right yesterday but we do have a few key players out and with the size and strength of our squad we don't appear to be able to cope with certain players missing. still we have another break before our next game and I'm 95% sure we'll be totally fine come may HTL

I reckon we could get a win, or at least a draw here.
Tiotes the only player definately out, Barton and Gutierrez would be back, fully fit, and if Enrique isn't, we still have the mighty Ferguson :)
and Best is back, so we dont have to put up with Lovenkrands anymore, Aswell as Ireland being a possibility. Exciting stuff, eh? ;)

    3-1 to us

If you had offered me this situation at the start of the season, I would have grabbed it without hesitation. It is not just us that are still looking at the relegation fight, there are still 12 teams involved.
This is the tightest season for years and to be 4 points clear of the drop on 36 points with 10 games left is far better than I would have hoped for.

As for the posters on 606, I don't go on there anymore purely because of a couple of muppets. The site is a complete waste of time now and I just hope that the idiots don't come on here when it closes.

We need to try write off our recent form and look at our run in, barring Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea we have Wolves, Brum, WBA at home and Villa and Blackpool away.... For survival those are kind fixtures if we can play well. Wolves now is a MASSIVE game, looking at the table just 3 points between us and them with the teams clustered in the middle, we really have to win that more than anything to try open up a bit of breathing space. We need to attack Wolves from the off, don't let them settle, get that goal and push on for the 2nd. If you can win that then looking at our other fixtures you have to say that there is a possible 10-13 points we should realistically be playing for which would be enough.... But we have got to more than anything beat Wolves to avoid being truly sucked in to the relegation fight, because once you're down there, with it goes your confidence.

Fair play if some people want to have a negative view and blame the current vein of form on Ashley or Pardew but I’m still of the opinion that the sole aim of this season was survival and even though we were distracted by a high league position a few games ago; the view is still on survival.

I’d hoped that 40 points was attained and then have the squad push on to see how high they could finish.

I’m still waiting for the 40 points.

When that’s reached I’ll breathe a sigh of relief and will the team onwards to get a few more points.

As mentioned; this season is very tight with a relegation battle that can incorporate 12 teams going into the final straight.

I won’t claim that we’re infinitely better placed to avoid the drop than the others as we’re clearly not but a few points on the board will help to steady nerves and we still have some winnable games coming up to get them.

Two weeks for the next match and hopefully the players who game back from injury can regain full fitness, the players with niggling injuries can recover and also the squad as a whole can get confidence back.

We’re not in the clear yet but I still remain optimistic that we will be.

We are in this position because Ashley wouldnt invest in January to help our threadbare squad. Simple as

Perhaps but did we have this injury issue in December or most of January? Was there this need to seriously bolster the squad?

Most of the key injuries have occurred since the start of Feb so you can't shoot someone for a lack of hindsight.

If we'd retained Carroll then perhaps we'd have over 40 points. Then again; maybe we wouldn't.

The last 2 games (the ones without Barton) i dont think having Carroll would have made a difference. Barton is such a big player for us, lets just hope that Stoke was a massive blip.

I think in a way the negativity is good, because this season any negativity created has usually resulted in positivity.
We just need to regroup without giving the players not on international duty any time off at all
get focused on Wolves straight away and do the buisness!
